James leads Moody’s Industry Practices group in the Americas, a broad team of industry experts covering banking, asset managers, insurance, corporations and governments who specialize in disciplines relevant to Moody’s solutions for analyzing and assessing risk.
His team is responsible for solutions that relate to customer targeting and onboarding, risk assessment, portfolio management and stress testing, compliance and third-party risk management, and data analytics in the Americas. His personal expertise is in credit and climate risk analytics.
James regularly contributes thought leadership in a variety of media including white papers, webinars and podcasts. James earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.
Scott is an Industry Practice Lead in the Banking Practice at Moody’s Analytics and is responsible for providing balance sheet management and accounting expertise across solutions, products, and services. He has over 25 years of experience leading auditing, consulting and accounting policy initiatives for financial institutions. Additionally, Scott has extensive experience in overall balance sheet and risk initiatives such as hedging programs, asset liability management, stress testing and capital planning.
Scott is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts and North Carolina and member of the AICPA, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lehigh University.
Across 15 years as a consultant and practitioner, Chris has worked with leading financial institutions throughout North America. Chris joined Moody’s in 2020 after leading TCF Bank through CECL adoption, high resolution risk rating projects and a merger of equals. As Moody’s Banking Innovation practice lead, he counsels our clients on how to maximize the potential our solutions enable and think strategically about investments for readiness to compete.
