Alexander Perjéssy is Vice President – Senior Credit Officer at the Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group.
Based in Dubai, he has lead analyst responsibilities for a number of sovereigns in the Middle East, including most of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states and several regional multilateral institutions.
Prior to joining Moody’s in November 2017, Alex worked for two years as economist at the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Before relocating to the Middle East, Alex spent more than 12 years covering macroeconomic developments and sovereign risk assessment in the emerging markets of the EMEA region for AllianceBernstein and The Rohatyn Group, both US-based asset management firms in New York, as well as for Goldman Sachs in London.
Alex holds an MA in Economics from the University of Maryland and a BA in Economics from Middlebury College.
Constantinos is a Senior Vice President and leads a team of analysts covering banks in Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans.
Since joining Moody’s Limassol-based banking team in 2005, Constantinos has followed banks as lead analyst in South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Israel, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He has authored numerous articles covering the African and Balkan banking systems and is a regular speaker at regional conferences.
Prior to joining Moody’s, Constantinos worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, both in audit and advisory. He holds a BSs in Economics from Queen Mary, London University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Dr Amr Hassanein is the Chairman of MERIS – Middle East Rating & Investors Service (Moody's Affiliate for Egypt and other countries in the region).
Dr Hassanein obtained a BS degree and a MS degree in Engineering from Cairo University, a MS degree in Finance from the University of Illinois, USA, and a PhD in Construction Management, University of Illinois. He also obtained an LLB in Law from the University of London, UK.
Dr. Hassanein has extensive experience in local and international development, credit rating; credit information; finance, financial services; privatization, concession contracts, and PPP; corporate governance; mortgage systems; credit mechanisms; SMMES (Small, Medium and Micro enterprises) institutional setups; and credit guarantee schemes for M/SMEs.
Habib Motani is a leading international financial markets lawyer, with particular expertise in relation to derivatives, securities lending, repo, netting and collateral and clearing and settlement systems.
He specialises in OTC and securitised derivatives, structured capital markets products including derivative linked retail and wholesale structured products, investment banking sales and trading advisory work, Islamic derivatives, securities lending and repos, netting and collateral and their regulatory capital treatment and in the infrastructure aspects of the financial markets, such as payment and settlement systems, clearing systems, prime brokerage and custody.
