Recent bank failures and an evolving regulatory landscape have renewed the focus on interest rate and liquidity risk management. Therefore, it is more important than ever to have an Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) that is engaged and knowledgeable about the risks faced by their financial institution. In this webinar we will discuss the function of ALCO with respect to risk and return, look at some sample agendas to help drive ALCO conversations that are focused on managing risk and balance sheet strategy, and provide an overview of some key tools and metrics that can be used to provide ALCO with a robust view of interest rate risk.

Christopher Jones is Director, Product Management for Moody’s Analytics. Jones is responsible for the design, integration, and development of new ALM-related products as well as the enhancement of existing products relating to areas such as FTP, Capital Planning, and Liquidity. Previously, Jones served as the Asset Liability Manager for Silicon Valley Bank and has worked for over 25 years as an ALM practitioner. Jones joined the Moody's team in April 2022.
Jones holds a B.A. in Finance from Weber State University with a minor in German, as well as an M.B.A. from Utah State University.
Jon Kiessling is responsible for commercial development and revenue enablement strategy for the Americas Banking region. His background includes roles as Chief Risk Officer, Chief Accounting Officer and Director of Corporate Finance with a publicly traded bank, where his focus was to lead and develop critical functions throughout the company’s high-growth lifecycle from capital raise until acquisition. Jon began his career with KPMG LLP focusing on financial services clients within the audit and advisory practices.
Jon holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Ohio State University and is an inactive CPA.
Ed Young works on projects involving credit risk, enterprise capital planning/stress testing, and CECL, helping clients solve complex financial risk management challenges. He develops robust, cross-company solutions to address clients’ needs and improve risk management processes. His background includes leadership roles at the Federal Reserve with a focus on credit, market, and liquidity risk; model risk management; and capital stress testing.
Ed earned both an MBA and BS in Finance from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
