Carola Schuler is a Managing Director in the Europe, Middle East and Africa banking team, based in Frankfurt. In this capacity, she is responsible for Moody’s analytical teams that rate banks primarily in the UK, the Eurozone and Central and Eastern Europe as well as non-bank financial companies across Europe. Carola has extensive experience in credit analysis and managing credit professionals.
Furthermore, Carola plays a leading role in Moody’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration efforts. Moody’s is committed to incorporating ESG risks into its credit analysis and Carola is one of Moody’s global coordinators of ESG analytical, research and outreach initiatives for financial institutions.
Prior to joining Moody’s in 2008, Carola was a Director at the credit risk management division of Deutsche Bank where she worked in a number of different analytical and managerial functions in Germany and abroad, covering corporate finance, leveraged finance, financial institutions and sovereign risk across Europe, including time spent in Brussels (Belgium).
Carola has a double German-French Diploma in Business Administration from Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (HTW), Saarbrücken /Germany and the University of Metz/ France.
Christian is a Vice President - Senior Analyst in the EMEA Insurance Team based in Frankfurt, Germany, and is the lead analyst for various primary insurers and reinsurers in the Benelux countries, Germany, Italy, the Nordics and Switzerland. Christian joined Moody’s in 2019. Prior to joining Moody’s, he was head of planning and performance management at Zurich Group Germany where he was in charge of planning, forecasting and reporting for the group’s German life insurance operations. Before that, he was a director and lead analyst at S&P Global, covering insurers in EMEA with a focus on companies operating in German-speaking countries. He started his career at Assekurata, where he specialized in assessing the investment management of rated insurers in Germany. Christian holds a degree in Business Administration from University of Cologne. |
Niclas Boheman, based in Stockholm, is Moody’s lead analyst on a number of financial institutions in the Nordics and Baltics. He also focuses on innovation and digitalisation trends in financial services in Europe.
Prior to joining Moody’s in 2016, Mr Boheman was a credit analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Svenska Handelsbanken, Stockholm. Mr Boheman holds a Degree of Master of Science (One Year) in International Economics from the School of Economics and Management, Lund University.
Stephen Boyer is a technology entrepreneur and executive, currently serving as the Chief Innovation Officer at BitSight. Stephen ensures an aligned vision between industry challenges and platform offerings, enabling organizations to create trust in the digital economy. He is a frequent speaker for security, risk, and insurance topics. He co-founded BitSight in 2011.
Sarah has been the lead analyst for most countries in the European Union, and is also a former lead analyst for the United States. She is currently the lead analyst for France and Italy, among other European countries. She is also one of the Sovereign Risk Group’s global spokespeople.
She joined Moody’s in 2009 after completing a Sloan Fellowship at the London Business School. Prior to this academic sabbatical, she spent seven years at the Financial Services Authority in London where she headed the regulator’s Risk Analysis area and acted as its chief macroeconomist. Before joining the FSA, she worked in Dun & Bradstreet’s Economic Analysis Group for six years, where she was the organisation’s Deputy Chief Economist.
She holds an MA in European Studies (with a concentration in Economics and Finance) from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC and an AB with a double major in Government and History from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in the United States. She is a CFA Charterholder and is co-chair of the Macroeconomic Committee of the CFA Society France. She is a dual citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States and is based in Paris.

Maria Gillholm is a Vice President -Senior Credit Officer in the Corporate Finance team and has worked with Moody’s in Sweden since March 2017. She is the lead analyst for Nordic real estate issuers. Maria has 22 years experience of corporate credit ratings and financial analysis but overall 26 years of work experience. Before joining Moody’s, she was a Senior Credit Analyst at Swedbank, where she managed a Swedish/Finnish real estate portfolio of more than 20 companies. She has also held credit analyst positions at Standard & Poor’s, Danske Bank and Swedish Export Guarantees Board. Maria has covered several industries, but has predominantly dealt with companies in the real estate sector. She holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from Lunds University, Sweden. |

Irina is an Analyst in the EMEA Insurance Team, with lead responsibilities for a portfolio of insurance companies in several European countries. Irina joined Moody’s London office in 2018 and transitioned to Frankfurt in 2020.
Prior to her current role, Irina worked as an Associate Analyst providing analytical support for a range of insurance companies across the EMEA region. Irina also supported ratings for UK asset managers.
Irina graduated from the Vienna University of Economics with M.Sc. in Finance and Accounting and holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the same university.
