Paul Nola is a founding partner of We Live Context, a London-based strategic marketing consultancy. An expert in international business-to-business markets, Paul has consulted over more than 20 years to leading brands in sectors including Financial Services, Telecoms and Technology and Industrial Products; helping clients to develop customer-centric strategies, propositions, experiences and communications.

He speaks regularly at marketing and research conferences, and holds an MBA from Imperial College, London and a BA from the University of Bristol.

Ted leads Moody’s Financial Crime Compliance industry practice in Europe, Africa & Americas. He has spent the last decade helping organisations harness data and technology to improve their risk-based approach to customer and third-party due diligence. Teds’ practise group drives innovation in Moody’s product strategy and helps their customers make better, faster decisions the era of exponential risk.

Ted is a regular contributor to global anti-corruption forums and an active supporter of public-private collaboration initiatives. He was a member of the winning team at the FCA’s Global AML and Financial Crime TechSprint addressing beneficial ownership registry reconciliation for the benefit of all market participants. He is also a founding member of the DT4C (Data & Technology for Compliance) industry alliance, a collective advocacy group working to ensure regulated entities have the data they need to combat financial crime.

Ted holds ACAMS certification and a Diploma in Financial Crime Prevention from the International Compliance Association.

Mr. Benedict Cheng has spent close to 30 years of his career predominantly in investment banks such as Nomura, Deutsche Bank and HSBC where he held senior roles in market risk, traded credit risk, operational risk, regulatory compliance as well as business management/COO covering Asia Pacific region. Mr. Cheng also took on senior project management roles in several financial institutions, including the securities regulator in Hong Kong. Throughout his banking career, Mr. Cheng led a number of key change management initiatives covering different business life cycles, including corporate investment approval/acquisition and exit strategy planning, credit assessment, enterprise risk management and compliance process re-engineering, digital risk transformation, enhancements of investment/trading risk and governance framework, as well as proprietary system implementations focusing on regulatory changes with respect to investment/trade capture, risk aggregation and reporting, and post-investment/trade surveillances. Mr. Cheng’s product and market expertise includes listed equities, fixed income, FX, treasury, high yield, distressed assets, private equities, venture capital as well as insurance and wealth management. Besides achieving a flourishing career in banking and financial services, Mr. Cheng was actively involved in consulting and advisory practices pertaining to electronic trading, pre-trade risk management, KYC onboarding, post-trade surveillance, multi-cloud implementation, data governance, and development of financial technologies via the establishment of innovation labs for clients. Since January 2019, Mr. Cheng has joined PCCW-HKT as Group Chief Risk Officer and Group Data Protection Officer leading a team of 26 risk and compliance professionals across Hong Kong and US.

Carrie is a seasoned leader with 15+ years of experience driving analytics and innovations in the risk management of financial industry in Canada. She is specialized in credit risk and financial crime risk management, including application of AI and Machine learning. She’s a passionate advocate for responsible use of AI based on risk-based approach. She’s currently VP, Model Development in Equitable Bank, Canada’s Challenger Bank.

Carrie holds a PhD in Management Science and Engineering, an MBA from Schulich School of Business. She’s also a CFA Charterholder.

Franny Engle is the Head of Compliance Reviews and Testing at Klarna, where she leads a global team focused on carrying out compliances and testing within the fields of regulatory compliance, financial crime and data privacy.

Franny has been with Klarna since 2019. Prior to this, Franny has held a variety of leadership positions focused on Financial Crime within Fiduciary Services.

Tim manages a team of technologists in the creation and application of custom software solutions and vendor products. Supports all areas of Compliance, focusing on financial crimes areas including suspicious activity monitoring, sanctions screening, KYC, customer risk rating, and reporting.

Katherine Curtin is the Head of Marketing for the Compliance and Third-Party Risk business where she leads a passionate team focused on helping the market understand how Moody’s is expanding its mission as the integrated risk assessment provider of choice to help customers manage Compliance, KYC, AML, due diligence, financial crime, supplier risk and more.

Katherine has been with Moody’s since 2009. She has held leadership and specialist positions across Client Service, Innovation, and Marketing.

Before her current role, she led marketing strategy for Moody’s innovation division. In addition to bringing new products to market and evolving the firm’s innovation brand, she was responsible for innovation culture activities including hackathons, ideation challenges, and technology education.
