Emily Raimes Associate Managing Director - Public Finance Group Moody's Ratings

Emily Raimes is an Associate Managing Director in Moody’s Ratings Public Finance Group, overseeing the global higher education and nonprofit team, covering over 700 colleges, universities, and nonprofit institutions worldwide.

Previously, she managed the States Team, covering state credits across the US. Prior to joining Moody’s in 2006, Emily spent seven years at the New York City Office of Management and Budget, working primarily in Economic Analysis. Emily holds a BA degree in government from Wesleyan University and a Master’s in Public Administration from New York University.

Christopher Collins VP-Senior Analyst Moody's Ratings

Chris is a Vice President/Senior Analyst on Moody’s Global Higher Education and Nonprofit Team. He serves as lead analyst for a diverse group of higher education and nonprofit credits across the U.S., ranging from large public university systems with academic medical centers to small private colleges. Chris has written publications on a range of topics and authored the Higher Education Methodology published in August 2021. He is a member of the public-private partnership and infrastructure task forces. Before joining Moody’s, he worked for the City of New York’s Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget on a task force overseeing the Department of Education’s budget. Prior to the City of New York, Chris was a social studies teacher in Massachusetts. Chris has a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and an M.P.P. from Brown University.

John Medina Senior Vice President, Global Project and Infrastructure Finance Moody's Ratings

John is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s Global Project and Infrastructure Finance Team covering a diverse portfolio of project financings, public private partnerships (PPPs), and municipal infrastructure issuers in the transportation, energy and social infrastructure sectors. John chairs Moody’s Global PPP Task Force and is the sector lead for US toll roads, PPPs and generic project financings. John authors research across multiple sectors and annually leads several new rating assignments for new PPPs and project financings in the US and Canada. John was selected as one of the Bond Buyer’s 2017 Rising Stars. Before joining the Infrastructure and Project Finance Team in 2010, John spent two and a half years as a lead analyst for local governments and enterprises in the Eastern Regional Local Government Ratings Team where he was the lead for municipal issuers in Pennsylvania and New York while also covering New Jersey, Virginia, and Florida. Prior to joining Moody’s, John worked as a risk management analyst, a property and casualty insurance account manager, and a health care claims auditor. John is a founding member and was the first co-chair of Moody’s NY Multicultural Employee Resource Group and is a founding steering committee member of Moody’s NY LGBTA Employee Resource Group. John earned his BA degree in Health Care Economics and Policy from Stanford University and his MPA in Health Care Public Finance from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

Dan Steingart Associate Managing Director-US Public Finance Moody's Ratings

Dan Steingart manages Moody’s Ratings Not-for-Profit Healthcare team, overseeing a dedicated team of 10 analysts covering over 300 hospitals and health systems nationwide. 

Dan is an 18-year veteran of public finance and is a sought after speaker on topics including health system finances and the impact of major legislative and judicial actions on the credit quality of hospital systems and provider care networks. He has deep experience working with a variety of healthcare institutions including academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, and community hospitals.  Over his career at Moody’s, he has authored numerous articles on healthcare policy and legislation, industry trends, and multiple sector outlooks.
