Colin Ellis is Moody’s first Global Credit Strategist, and a Managing Director in the Credit Strategy team.
In his current role, Colin provides thought leadership for the rating agency that deepens the understanding of ratings and debt capital markets through rigorous and quantitative research. He leads Moody’s teams working on default and ratings analytics and on global financial analysis, including bank projections and stress testing. Colin is also a member of Moody’s Macroeconomic Board, which sets the global forecasts that underpin Moody’s universe of ratings.
Colin joined Moody’s in February 2012, initially leading the work of the Macroeconomic Board and authoring the quarterly Global Macro Outlook. He subsequently worked in the Financial Institutions Group, developing quantitative forward-looking analyses. For 8 years he was the Chief Credit Officer for EMEA, leading analysis and coordination of credit and ratings across all rating franchises in the region. He was also the ‘Head of UK’ for Moody's Ratings, responsible for the running of Moody’s UK operations, from 2019-2022 including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to joining Moody’s, Colin held roles at the Bank of England, Daiwa Capital Markets, the BVCA and at Birmingham University. He has published papers on a range of topics including corporate investment and pricing, credit risk, private equity, data uncertainty, stress testing, financial contagion and monetary policy. Colin holds degrees from York University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Middlesex University. He is a Visiting Professor at Hult International Business School and LSBU, and is also a Fellow of the RSA.
Kingsmill Bond, CFA is an energy strategist for RMI. He has worked as a financial market analyst and strategist for over 25 years, including for Deutsche Bank, Sberbank and Citibank in London, Hong Kong and Moscow.
He believes that the renewable revolution is the most important driver of financial markets and geopolitics in the modern era. He joined RMI from Carbon Tracker in 2022 to write analysis on the impact of the energy transition on financial markets, with a focus on the exponential growth of renewables and the peaking of fossil fuel demand.
Rebecca is a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer in Moody’s Sustainable Finance group, where she leads thought leadership on the impact of environmental, social and governance factors on credit and capital markets. In her role, Rebecca is responsible for the coordination and execution of the Sustainable Finance group’s thematic research program and market outreach activities. She also serves as a visible subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders and supports outreach and engagement with strategic partners.
Prior to joining the ESG team, Rebecca was a member of the Strategy and Research team at MIS, where she led cross-sector research and analytics on the credit implications of key macroeconomic and policy developments in North America. Rebecca first joined Moody’s in 2011 as an associate analyst in the Sovereign Risk Group.
She holds a dual Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University (SIPA), in New York, and Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po), in Paris, as well as a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
Since September 2023, Clémence Alasseur is head of ESG performance team in EDF Impact Division. Previously, she was responsible of EDF R&D research team on energy market risk management and from 2014 to 2021 lead the Finance for Energy Market Research Center. Before, she leaded projects on price risk management and electricity price modelling in collaboration with operational divisions of EDF Group.
Johanna works with NGO partners, industrial stakeholders and policymakers on issues relating to decarbonising energy- and resource-intensive sectors. Her expertise includes industrial policy, circular economy, built environment and trade policy.
Before joining E3G in August 2019, Johanna was a research associate in the Energy, Environment and Resources Department at Chatham House. Her research, while at Chatham House, covered industrial decarbonisation, the circular economy, low-carbon innovation in the built environment, chokepoints in global food trade, natural resource governance in China and energy for displaced populations.
She holds an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Oxford, where her thesis focused on the role of oil abundance and water scarcity in interstate conflicts in the Middle East. Johanna also has a BA in European Social and Political Studies, with a specialisation in economics, from University College London.
Frank Medrisch, CFA, currently serves as a VP - Senior Analyst within Moody’s Ratings Sustainable Finance Group, based in London. His expertise lies in analyzing the credit implications of the energy transition across various sectors, with a particular focus on corporate net zero strategies, climate governance, carbon transition public policies, and emerging low carbon technologies. Frank's contributions have been instrumental in the creation of Moody’s Carbon Transition Indicators (CTI).Furthermore, he co-authored Moody’s framework for Net Zero Assessments(NZAs) in 2023, marking a significant milestone in his career. From 2024 onwards, Frank has been a lead analyst assessing corporate transition plans under the NZA framework. His role also extends to participating, presenting, and moderating at Moody’s events and webinars. He is also frequently involved in external outreach meetings and working groups.
Prior to his tenure at Moody’s, which began in 2015, Frank gained valuable experience in corporate finance credit ratings and equity/fixed income research in Latin America. Frank is a CFA charter holder and has also earned the CFA Certificate in Climate and Investing, demonstrating his commitment to understanding the intersection of finance and climate change. His academic background includes a Master’s degree in Finance and a BA in Economics from UTDT, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Tobias Wagner is a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer at Moody’s in the EMEA Corporate Finance Group based in London. His current coverage focuses on the commodities (oil & gas, mining), manufacturing and shipping sectors. Tobias joined Moody’s in 2009 and has worked in the Corporate Finance Group across a range of sectors.
Tobias holds a diploma of business administration from Goethe University and is a CFA charter holder.
