Joseph Pucella Associate Managing Director, North America Banks and Specialty Finance Moody's Ratings

Joseph Pucella is an Associate Managing Director based in New York who oversees the North American team covering specialty finance companies. From 2007 to 2022, Joseph was a lead analyst for various US financial institutions, including regional and community banks, credit unions, Federal Home Loan Banks, commercial real estate lenders and business development companies. He joined Moody’s in 2004 as an accounting specialist. Prior to joining Moody’s, Joseph held positions at Credit Suisse, Deloitte, and Arthur Andersen. Joseph is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated cum laude from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.

Keith Banhazl Managing Director, Head of Commercial Real Estate Finance Moody’s Ratings

Keith Banhazl is a Managing Director and Head of Commercial Real Estate Finance for Americas within the Structured Finance Group and leads the team responsible for CMBS & CRE CLO new ratings and surveillance at Moody’s Investors Service. The team is responsible for reviewing Conduit/Fusion, Large Loan/Single Borrower, Agency CMBS, Credit Tenant Lease, Small Balance Commercial, CRE CLO, CRE CDO and other structured products at Moody’s Investors Service. He is also Moody’s Global Structured Finance Outreach Coordinator. He has been involved in various research initiatives and outreach activities related to the CRE securitization space, publishing and speaking on Moody’s behalf. Prior to being appointed to his current position, Mr. Banhazl was a Managing Director within the Structured Finance Group leading the US CMBS and CRE CLO/CDO Surveillance team and the review of primary US CRE CLO/CDO transactions, including the credit assessment team for commercial real estate assets within CRE CDO’s and CLO’s as well as Structured Credit transactions. Previously at Moody’s, he rated various fixed and floating-rate Conduit/Fusion and Large Loan CMBS transactions. Allen Tischler Senior Vice President, North America Banks Moody's Ratings

Allen Tischler is a senior member of Moody’s North American Banking Team covering a broad portfolio of US regional banks and custody banks. He is also Moody’s lead analyst on the Federal Farm Credit Banks and a number of Federal Home Loan Banks.Allen joined the team in 1999 as an Associate Analyst.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Allen completed a Management Associate program with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation. 

Allen holds a B.A. degree from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Peter Nerby Senior Vice President, North America Banks and Securities Firms Moody's Ratings

Since joining Moody’s in November 1998, Peter Nerby has been responsible for analyzing and rating the investment banks, broker-dealers and exchanges within the U.S. securities industry. Peter is currently lead analyst covering Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase. Peter came to the company with more than 15 years’ of experience in corporate finance, credit, and counter party analysis. 

Prior to joining Moody’s, he led a team at Deutsche Bank that was responsible for managing the bank’s exposure to U.S. broker dealers. He also spent 12 years at JPMorgan and after completing JPM’s management training program, specialized in managing trading and derivatives counter party risk with regulated financial institutions and hedge funds.

Mr. Nerby holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. After graduation, he spent a year writing case studies on financial strategies of Canadian natural resource companies for use in the School’s graduate and undergraduate programs. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Warren Kornfeld Senior Vice President, Banking, Financial Institutions Moody's Ratings

Warren Kornfeld is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s Financial Institutions Group covering mortgage, credit card, student loan banks and finance companies as well as Government Sponsored Enterprises (FHLBanks, Farm Credit, Fannie and Freddie).

Prior to joining the Financial Institutions Group, Warren was a Managing Director for Structured Finance Administration overseeing key strategic initiatives and prior to that Warren co-headed the Residential Mortgage- Backed Securities (RMBS) team as well as headed up the U.S. Servicer Ratings team.

Warren joined Moody’s in 2001. Prior to Moody’s, Warren held senior investment banking positions with William Blair & Co., The Industrial Bank of Japan and Bickford & Partners focusing on a securitizations of a wide range of asset types, including residential mortgages, equipment lease, auto loan and lease, consumer assets and commercial receivables.

Warren holds a B.S. in Finance and Decision Sciences from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
