close| Juan Pablo Soriano joined Moody’s Investors Service in London in 1994. He is currently based in Madrid as Managing Director of EMEA Covered Bonds and global Covered Bond coordinator. He is also the country manager for Spain and Portugal. Prior to joining Moody’s, Mr Soriano had various responsibilities first at a Stock Broker Agency and then in the New York branch of the Banco Central Hispanoamericano back in 1988, holding diverse positions as Money Market Manager, Assistant Vice President in the Loan & Investment Department and Vice President in the Trade Finance Department. In 1993 he was transferred to Madrid as Vice-President of the Fixed Income Department. Mr Soriano is a graduate in Law by the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Spain, and holds an MBA in Finance by the Leonard Stern School of Business (NYU). |
Pablo Crespo is Managing Director, Head of Spain at Apollo. He brings over 20 years of experience in Corporate Credit, Distressed/NPLs investing, Principal Finance and structured credit trading. Before joining Apollo, Pablo worked for KKR/Pillarstone as Partner heading the Business Development practice, where he was responsible for leading the expansion of the franchise both in existing as well as new jurisdictions. Previously, Pablo was with AnaCap Financial Partners as Investment Director in its Credit Opportunities Fund, and was a director in the Illiquid Structured Credit Trading team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch before that. Pablo also worked in the Global Markets Principal Finance Credit team at Deutsche Bank, and with Hermes Management Consulting advising LATAM’s largest buyout group on acquisition and business restructuring in projects in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador.
Pablo earned an MBA from London Business School and a BA in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina.
Javier Hevia is a Vice President-Senior Credit Officer in the European Structured Credit Surveillance team where he works on the monitoring of CLOs, Project Finance CDOs and Esoteric transactions. Prior to his surveillance role in Moody’s Javier spent five years in the primary team assessing the credit risk of a broad array of structured credit transactions in Europe with special focus in the Spanish securitization market. Javier has published extensive research on CLO sector developments.
Prior to joining Moody’s in 2007, Javier worked for three years in JPMorgan in London advising corporates, insurance companies and pension funds on strategic risk management, asset-liability management and longevity risk. Previously he worked for the Central Bank of Costa Rica and for a Costa Rican bank.
Mr. Hevia holds a Bsc. in Economics (honors) from the University of Costa Rica and Masters degree in Finance (honors) from RSM Erasmus University in the Netherlands.
José de León serves as Senior Vice President and Manager in Moody’s EMEA-covered bond group.
José’s leadership spans a team of credit analysts stationed in various European offices. He also oversees the coordination of covered bond ratings in the Asia Pacific region. His tenure at Moody’s began in 2003 as an RMBS/ ABS analyst, where he played an instrumental role in implementing and adapting Moody’s covered bond methodology across diverse asset classes and jurisdictions throughout Europe. Before joining Moody’s, José worked in structuring and trading ABS at DZ Bank, as well as in exotic equity derivatives at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt.
His educational credentials include an MSc in Finance Analytics from King's College London, a degree in Economics from Universidad Complutense in Madrid, and a degree in Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (formerly HfB). José also holds a Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF).
Elena trabaja para el Banco Santander, en la División de Banca Corporativa y de Inversión. En la actualidad es Managing Director del Equipo de Gestión de Balance, responsable de Estrategias de Portfolio Global.
Elena es también Consejera de IACPM ( International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers ) y miembro de la Comisión Ejecutiva.
Su foco actual es la financiación del balance de banca de inversión a través de cédulas y bonos así como otras soluciones estructurales de financiación. Además se centra en la generación de capital a través del diseño, ejecución y gestión de titulizaciones sintéticas con transferencia significative del riesgo.
Entre otras acciones de gestión de balance incluye las estrategias de compra activa de CDS, tanto índices como single name, tanto para gestión de línea, como generación de capital y reducción de provisiones.
Con anterioridad Elena ejerció como Global Chief Investment Officer de Santander Asset Management durante 20 años.
Además fue miembro del Comité de Indice FTSE Latibex y Profesora de Asset Allocation en el Master en Mercados Financieros de la Escuela de Finanzas en la Coruña, así como de Mercados Emergentes en el Instituto de Finanzas Avanzadas Elena es licenciada en Finanzas por CUNEF y PDG por el IESE.
Agustin Martin is the head of covered bonds, SSAs and DM Credit Strategy at BBVA, based in London. He has been the lead covered bonds & SSAs analyst at BBVA for twenty years. BBVA’s covered bonds & SSAs research is considered by European investors and central banks as one of the top providers of high-quality research, ranked #1 by PIMCO, Oddo BHF and Deka. Agustin has been the chairman of the European Covered Bond Council (ECBC) Technical Issues Working Group since 2020 and represents Spain in the VdP roundtable of covered bond experts. Agustin is also a member of the steering committee of the European Covered Bond Council (ECBC).
Agustín joined BBVA in October 2005, after the completion of his master’s degree in electrical engineering and he worked previously in the Spanish utilities sector. In BBVA he has had different roles within the European credit research team, including as a research analyst in structured credit, investment-grade industrial corporates and since 2010, he has headed the covered bonds, SSAs and credit strategy research.
In the SSAs space he is one of the most highly regarded analysts within the Iberian space, which includes, among others, the Spanish autonomous communities. He is a frequent panelist and collaborator with Bloomberg and the specialized media in areas such as covered bonds, ESG research and Iberian agencies and autonomous communities. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in 2001 and a MsC in advanced econometrics and statistics applied to electrical engineering in 2004 from the same university.
Alberto is based in Madrid as Vice President – Senior Credit Officer for the EMEA Structured Finance Group. As a senior member of Moody's EMEA Structured Finance Group, he is responsible for conducting credit rating committee deliberations ensuring that the appropriate methodologies are applied in a way that is consistent with published methodologies and internal polices & procedures.
Alberto joined the surveillance team within Moody’s Structured Finance Group in2001 where he was responsible for monitoring the performance of Spanish securitisation transactions. In 2002, he moved to the primary team focusing primarily on the Iberian securitisation market. In his tenure he has been involved in a large range of asset classes. He has managed ABS, RMBS, SMEs and Real Estate Developer transactions across EMEA.
Since joining, Alberto has played an important role in the growth of the Madrid structured finance team mentoring new analysts, co-authoring or leading the publication of reports on the EMEA securitisation market and acting as point-of-contact between Moody’s and originators, investors, media and other market participants.
Prior to joining Moody’s, Alberto worked at Banco Zaragozano in the internal audit department. He holds a Diploma in Business Science where he received a special award for graduating the top of his class and he holds a degree in Business Administration by Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Centro Universitario Francisco de Vitoria).
Fadi started his career within the Group in 2007. In May 2011, he joined the Securitisation team then moved to London in 2013. Since then, he has been working on the structuring of securitisation transactions for Financial Institutions and finance captives of other Corporates across various asset classes, providing clients with solutions related to financing, asset transfer, de-risking and capital relief. He was in particular in charge of developing the Iberian franchise for the Securitisation franchise. Fadi graduated from the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC), Paris.
Paula is an Assistant Vice President - Analyst within Moody’s Investors Service Structured Finance Group, based in Madrid. Paula has more than 10 years of experience within structured finance and is currently a lead analyst in the EMEA consumer ABS new ratings team.
Paula joined Moody’s in September 2013 in London where she was responsible for the monitoring of performance trends and publication of performance reports for a variety of structured finance asset classes within the EMEA and Latin America regions. She joined the EMEA consumer ABS new ratings team in February 2015, responsible for the assignment of new ratings to consumer ABS and RMBS transactions across all major European jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Moody’s Paula worked in a Forex and CFDs London based broker. Paula holds a MSc in Business Administration and a Masters in Banking, Finance and Insurance from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
Angel Jimenez is an Assistant Vice President in Moody’s in the European Corporate Structured Finance Surveillance team where he works on a broad range of transactions such as CLOs, ABS-SME, Balance Sheet, CDOs, Multicedulas, Tariff Deficit, Repacks and Esoteric transactions in different jurisdictions, including both Europe and Latam. Angel has published extensive research on ABS-SME sector developments, with particular focus on southern European SMEs.
Prior to joining Moody’s in 2015, Angel worked for Fitch Ratings in Madrid at the Structured Finance team leading the rating analysis of new issuances of Iberian Consumer, Auto and SMEs transactions. Previously, he worked for PwC as Senior Financial Auditor and for BBVA Asset Management at the Corporate Pension Schemes Business Development division.
Mr. Jimenez holds a Msc. in Economics from Universidad de Salamanca and a Postgraduate degree on Business Management from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. He has also studied one year as exchange student at Univerza v Mariboru (Slovenia) and holds a diploma on Cross-Cultural Management and International Business by BI Norwegian School of Management.
