Njuguna Ndung’u is currently the Chair of the Advisory Board of TDB Academy. He is the former Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning of Kenya. He has also previously been the Executive Director of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), a Pan African premier capacity building network. He is also a former Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya, where he served from 2007 to 2015. He is an associate professor of economics at the University of Nairobi, Kenya (on leave of absence). He has been a member of Global Advisory Council (GAC) of the World Economic Forum. He holds a PhD in economic from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Currently he is a Member of the Brookings Africa Growth Initiative (AGI) Distinguished Advisory Group, a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, AFI, that coordinates financial inclusion policies in Africa, Asia and Latin America, and a Senior Advisor for the UNCDF-based Better Than Cash Alliance.

David Luusa is the Director of the Financial Markets Department at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), where he leads the bank’s foreign reserves, domestic debt and monetary operations management, as well as the wider market development agenda. He serves as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee and sits on the Board of the Capital Markets Authority of Kenya, contributing to financial sector stability and market deepening initiatives.

With more than two decades of experience across commercial and central banking, David has held senior leadership roles spanning treasury management, risk, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. Before joining the CBK in 2020, he served as Managing Director and Head of Financial Markets for Standard Chartered Bank Kenya & East Africa, overseeing regional trading and sales activities, alongside global and regional leadership roles.

David has been instrumental in spearheading financial market reforms in Kenya, including the transition toward risk-free reference rates, benchmark reform and market infrastructure modernization. He has advised on strategy and policy issues relating to debt markets, liquidity management and macro-financial linkages, consistently benchmarking Kenya’s practices against global standards with the goal of strengthening domestic capital markets as a catalyst for economic growth. In addition, he engages regularly with multilateral institutions, policymakers and private sector stakeholders to promote innovation, resilience and inclusivity in financial markets.

David is widely regarded as a thought leader in monetary and capital markets, combining practical market expertise with a strong policy perspective. Lynnette Koech is the Senior Treasury Manager at 4G Capital Ltd, where she leads capital markets engagement, investor relations, treasury operations, and financial strategy. Prior to joining 4G Capital, Lynnette held senior roles at Copia Kenya, where she drove strategic planning, analytics, and cost optimization, achieving multi-million-dollar savings, and at Diageo’s East African Breweries, where she managed financial control and credit risk across multiple African markets including Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Ethiopia.

Her experience spans fundraising, financial modeling, forecasting, risk management, and business partnering, with a proven track record of delivering EBITDA growth and strengthening financial resilience.

Dennis Munyua is a transformational fintech leader with 12+ years driving strategic innovation across Africa’s digital finance ecosystem. Currently Executive Business & Strategy Manager (Chief of Staff), Dennis has orchestrated multi-country initiatives impacting 60+ million customers and 1+ million businesses.

Dennis is passionate about driving financial inclusion & health across Africa through technology-enabled solutions, bridging traditional financial services with emerging market needs while delivering quantifiable business impact and building sustainable, customer-centric financial ecosystems. He has led in the formulation of the pan-African Vision 2030 strategy across six markets (Kenya, DRC, Tanzania, Mozambique, Lesotho, Ethiopia) with a strong focus on financial health, a fulfilment of his passion as well as the organizational goals.

Over his 17 years at Safaricom, he held multiple senior leadership roles, spearheading innovations that bridged financial access gaps and strengthened Africa’s digital ecosystems.

Beyond Safaricom, Victor has collaborated with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to scale digital finance solutions across the continent and previously served as Director of Sales & Distribution at Airtel Kenya.

Isabel Wanjohi is a seasoned Finance and treasury leader with 15+ years’ experience in treasury management, corporate finance, and organizational leadership across East Africa. She currently serves as Group Head of Treasury at Platcorp Holdings Limited, where she oversees liquidity management, funding strategies, investor relations, and treasury governance across multiple subsidiaries. Isabel has held senior leadership roles in finance, internal audit, and microfinance operations, successfully driving restructuring, risk management, and business growth initiatives. Isabel is passionate about building strong teams, driving sustainable growth, and enhancing financial resilience in organizations.

Bernard is a Kenyan national. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration majoring in strategic management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor Degree in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University. He has over twelve years of work experience in enterprise risk management.

He previously worked for Deloitte & Touche in the Risk Advisory practice for nine years from 2007 to 2016 before joining the Co-operative Bank of Kenya, a top tier one bank, as a Senior Risk Manager, where he worked for three years before joining Shelter Afrique. His key achievements include many years of developing and implementing enterprise risk management programmes.

Chris is the CEO of Dhamana, an East Africa-focused financial guarantor providing irrevocable guarantees for local currency debt, ensuring timely payment of principal and interest on bonds or loans. Dhamana is backed by InfraCo Africa (PIDG), the African Development Bank, Cardano Development, Kenya’s County Pension Fund. Chris has 20 years of experience in project and infrastructure finance, covering the entire lifecycle from origination to financial close, working across both the economic and social infrastructure sectors in Europe and Africa. Before Dhamana, he was an investment specialist at IFC and held infrastructure finance roles at PwC and Mott MacDonald in the UK. He specializes in structuring and mobilizing capital for infrastructure development.

Jill Atsango is a Senior Analyst at GCR Ratings, an affiliate of Moody's, where she specializes in analyzing and rating financial institutions and corporates in the East African region. Prior to joining GCR, Jill spent nearly a decade in the banking industry, holding multiple roles at GTBank (Kenya) Ltd and Prime Bank Ltd.

Jill's banking experience equipped her with expertise in team leadership, relationship management, financial modeling, forecasting, credit risk analysis, strategy development, and business development. Her roles in corporate, commercial, and SME banking also involved driving the growth of assets and liabilities within those sectors. Alessandra Cetera is the Account Executive for Africa and Middle East responsible

for maintaining and extending existing customer relationships in the sub-region.

She has more than 12 years’ experience in the Financial Markets having covered

Business Management and Fixed Income Sales roles in Investment Banks such as

Barclays Capital and the Royal Bank of Scotland, as well as Relationship and

Account Management roles for Financial Services providers such as Bloomberg,

Oracle Financial Services and Dealogic. She holds a Bsc in Economics and

Commerce (Hons) from the University of Bari (Italy) and a Msc in Marketing and

Finance from the University of Exeter (UK).

Alessandra is fluent in Italian, English, Greek and Spanish, and has a basic

knowledge of French and Arabic.

Christian Fang is a Vice President and Senior Analyst with the Sovereign and Sub-Sovereign Risk Group at Moody’s Investors Service.

Based in Dubai, Christian serves as lead analyst for a portfolio of sovereigns in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, including Jordan, Kuwait, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka.

He is also lead analyst for the Gulf Investment Corporation and the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, multilateral development banks serving the interests of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, respectively.

Christian was formerly based in Singapore covering a portfolio of predominantly Asia Pacific and Eurasian sovereigns and sub-sovereigns.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Christian was a Lead Portfolio Manager for the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he was responsible for the investment of Singapore’s foreign reserves in European fixed income, global investment-grade credit, and global developed equity markets.

His time with the central bank included a two-and-a-half-year stint in London as its sole in-house investment representative. He also worked in monetary policy operations and macroprudential policy research, and was involved in the negotiation of Singapore’s renminbi swap line with China, as well as banking systemwide stress tests.

Christian holds an honors bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in Finance from Princeton University.

Nicole Gibb is a seasoned financial services professional with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. She currently serves as the Group Head of Ratings and Research at GCR Ratings, the leading provider of credit ratings in Africa and an affiliate of Moody’s. Constantinos is a Senior Vice President and leads a team of analysts covering banks in Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans.

Since joining Moody’s Limassol-based banking team in 2005, Constantinos has followed banks as lead analyst in South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Israel, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He has authored numerous articles covering the African and Balkan banking systems and is a regular speaker at regional conferences.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Constantinos worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, both in audit and advisory. He holds a BSs in Economics from Queen Mary, London University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Vimbai Mandebvu is currently Deputy Sector Head in the Financial Institutions Ratings division at GCR Ratings. She is based in Mauritius and has a career spanning 8 years at GCR. Vimbai has a diversified portfolio covering African multilateral development banks, and financial institutions across sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining GCR, she worked at PFK (Port Elizabeth) Inc as an external auditor. Vimbai holds a postgraduate degree in Accounting and is also a member of the South African Institute for Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

Tanveer Nandhra is the Managing Director for East Africa, and she brings a wealth of expertise in financial markets, business development, and leadership with a focus on East Africa. In her current role, she is responsible for leading the company’s East African operations, driving deeper market penetration, and enhancing GCR’s brand presence across the region. Tanveer is passionate about deepening the local currency capital markets in Africa and facilitating access to funding for African entities.

Before joining GCR, she served as the Managing Director, Head of Financial Markets Kenya and East Africa at Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited. She held a 19-year career with the organization in various jurisdictions such as Kenya, Mauritius, and the United Arab Emirates within Financial Markets. During her career, she has led many roles and executed key pivotal and first-time transactions in the market, as well as worked through interbank Foreign Exchange market reforms, as well as thought leadership in the industry, particularly on Bond Market developments. She successfully led operations, growth, and expansion over the region, including non-presence markets such as Rwanda and Ethiopia. Tanveer is known for her ability to drive market entry initiatives, build innovating financial services, and develop strategies in dynamic markets.

Tanveer is known for her passion in talent development and has played a key role in developing the female talent together with the broader Diversity and Inclusivity agenda. She has been recognised as the Top 50 Female Emerging Future Leaders by Financial Times & HERoes Champions of Women in Business 2018 and has worked on launching the 30% Club chapter in East Africa. She has also been part of the D&I teams within Standard Chartered Bank. She is a volunteer within her community Youth Organisation and was part of the team that was responsible for food distribution to over 50,000 families during COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021.

Tanveer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and International Finance from Bayes Business School, City University, London, and has also completed her ACI – Financial Markets accreditation certification. In 2025, she also completed a certification as an Infant Sleep Consultant awarded by OCN London.

David Rogovic is an Vice President - Senior Analyst in Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group based in New York. David has lead and back-up analyst responsibilities for a number of sovereign and supranational credits in Africa as well as Latin America and the Caribbean. David’s prior experience includes the best part of a decade analyzing sovereign credit risk in Western and Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey and Asia with J.P. Morgan, Nomura Asset Management and Roubini Global Economics, as well as an earlier stint with S&P’s financial institutions division. David is a Fulbright scholar (Economics Institute, Zagreb) and was awarded a Master of Public Administration from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from Pace University.

Christos joined Moody’s banking team in Cyprus in April 2007, after previous experience in asset and portfolio management. Christos is a CFA charter holder and holds a master’s degree in International Securities, Investment and Banking(Distinction) and a bachelor’s degree in Management (1st Class Honours).Over the years Christos has led the assignment of a high number of new Moody’s ratings in Sub-Saharan Africa, including in South Africa, Mauritius, Kenya, Tanzania, the DRC, and Angola. He also has extensive experience in covering a number of countries across the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Christos has been a key speaker at Moody’s and third party events, discussing Moody’s banking system outlooks and views on financial inclusion, innovation and technology.
