Antonello Aquino is Managing Director, global co-head for Insurance, Funds and Asset Management, and EMEA Private Credit at Moody’s Ratings. He leads Moody’s analytical team responsible for maintaining credit ratings on insurers, funds, and asset managers in EMEA and North America, as well as private credit entities.

Antonello joined Moody’s in 2008 as a Senior Insurance Analyst, covering major European (re)insurers. Prior to Moody’s, he led the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) rating advisory practice at Credit Suisse in Europe. His earlier experience includes roles as a Senior Analyst in Standard & Poor’s insurance sector, and positions within the FIG M&A teams at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW) and ABN AMRO.

He holds an MBA from HEC Paris and is an alumnus of London Business School. He graduated cum laude in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Italy. Antonello is fluent in English, Italian, and French.

Brandan is a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer in the EMEA Insurance Team, with analytical responsibility for a range of (re)insurance ratings across the EMEA region.

Brandan joined Moody’s New York office in 2010, as an analyst responsible for a diverse portfolio of US insurance and reinsurance companies. Prior to joining Moody’s, he was Assured Guaranty Ltd., responsible for accounting policy and transaction advisory services. Brandan started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in South Africa, later transferring to the New York office where he was a manager in the Assurance practice, primarily responsible for the audits of life insurance companies. 

Brandan holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Pretoria and a MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and a Certified Public Accountant (NY).

Helena is the lead analyst for various primary insurance and reinsurance groups based in the UK.

Prior to joining Moody’s in 2011, she worked as an auditor within the insurance department of Mazars. 

Helena holds a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and philosophy from King’s College London, is a chartered accountant and ICAEW Fellow.

James has lead coverage responsibility for a portfolio of U.S. and Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance companies.

Prior to joining Moody’s in 2001, James was an Associate Director at Aon Capital Markets where he was involved in the structuring and placement of catastrophe bonds, alternative risk transfer programs and contingent event capital for corporate and insurance company clients. Before to joining Aon Capital Markets, James was as an independent floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and a corporate legal assistant in the Asset Securitization Group at the law firm of Hunton & Williams.

James received an A.B. in History magna cum laude from Bowdoin College and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Shaheen Razzaq has nearly two decades of experience delivering risk management solutions to both insurance and reinsurance companies. As a Senior Director within the SaaS/Cloud solutions part of Moody’s Insurance business, Razzaq works with clients to understand their needs for the Intelligent Risk Platform™, the company’s Insurance enterprise-class, cloud-based, risk and exposure management platform.Shaheen is currently working on bringing sustainability to the core of insurance underwriting, integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) analytics and Carbon Accounting into workflows through intuitive and power applications that allow a new set of business users to build more analytical insights into the risks they underwrite.As a regular speaker at industry events, Razzaq often gives presentations about the business-value technology delivers to organizations that manage both catastrophe and non-catastrophe underwriting risk.Shaheen holds a master’s in business and information technology from Kingston Business School.

Maurizio’s main passion is about designing and developing innovative solutions to improve Cat risk modeling practices and customer experience. He is the team coach of about ten senior Product Managers responsible for the success of all Moody’s RMS core climate models, spanning Wind, Flood, Wildfire and Severe Convective Storm. Prior to this, Maurizio had different leadership roles at RMS and SCOR where he led Cat Research and Development. Maurizio holds an MSc in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin and a PhD in Hydrology from ETH Zurich.
