Leslie Maasdorp is CEO of British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution. He was previously Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of the New Development Bank, based in Shanghai, for nine years. Over the past 25 years he held senior leadership positions at global financial institutions, including serving as International Advisor to Goldman Sachs, Vice Chairman of Barclays Capital, and President of Bank of America Merrill Lynch in South Africa. In the early years of South Africa’s democratic era, he held key roles in the Government of South Africa, as Special Advisor to the Minister of Labour and Deputy Director-General responsible for Restructuring of State-owned Enterprises.

Rahul Ghosh is Managing Director and Global Head of Sustainable Finance & Emerging Markets at Moody's Ratings. In this role, Rahul is responsible for Moody's Ratings' strategy to systematically integrate material sustainability and climate considerations into credit ratings. He also leads analytical teams that produce assessments on the credentials of sustainable debt (Second Party Opinions) and the strength of companies' carbon transition plans (Net Zero Assessments), as well as the credit rating agency’s thought leadership and market engagement on global emerging market credit.

Rahul regularly takes part in high-profile industry working groups, market briefings, external conferences and media engagements. He represents Moody's as a member of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures and the Transition Finance Council. He also represents Moody's on the Principles for Responsible Investment's advisory committee on credit ratings and the International Capital Market Association's Green and Social Bond Principles advisory council. He has presented on the impact of climate change on global credit markets at the 2025 and 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conferences in Belém (COP30) and Glasgow (COP26), and on sustainable finance trends at the International Finance Corporation's Global Debt Mobilization Conference.

Before his current position, Rahul previously worked in Moody's Credit Strategy & Research team where he was responsible for regional credit oversight and though leadership. Prior to joining Moody's in 2013, Rahul was the Head of Asia at BMI Research (Fitch Solutions) in Singapore, leading a team of macroeconomists and industry specialists in analysing sovereign risk, sector performance and capital markets.

Rahul is the executive sponsor of Moody's UK Multicultural Business Resource Group. He holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Edinburgh and a Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Society of the UK.

Marie Diron is global head of Moody’s Sovereign and Sub-Sovereign Risk Group, with responsibility for credit ratings on countries, regional and local governments, public sector entities and multilateral development banks. Marie is also Moody’s Investors Service lead coordinator on ESG monitoring and integration across asset classes. 

Marie has worked in various functions at Moody’s in the Sovereign Risk Group and (then) Credit Policy. In particular, she was lead sovereign analyst for a number of Asia Pacific credits including Australia, China, India and some frontier market sovereigns. She then managed the Asia Pacific sovereign team, before expanding her responsibilities to today’s global role. Previously, in Credit Policy, Marie co-ordinated Moody’s Global Macro Outlook and other credit research. 

Marie was previously Director at Oxford Economics, leading the company’s forecasting and scenario analysis service to financial sector and corporate clients, after a number of years at the European Central Bank and Brevan Howard LLP. Marie received a MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge and graduated from the Ecole Centrale Paris.

Kathrin joined Moody’s Ratings in April 2010 as a member of the Sovereign Risk Group. She is the lead analyst for a number of European sovereigns including Turkey and Israel as well as several MDBs such as the IFC, EBRD and AIIB among others. She is also Moody’s global coordinator for all of Moody’s MDB ratings.

Prior to joining Moody’s Kathrin was a Director with Merrill Lynch, working as Sovereign Ratings Advisor to governments and banks in emerging markets. Prior to that, she was Chief Economist for Deutsche Bank in Spain.

She holds a M.Sc. in Economics, Latin American Politics, Spanish and Portuguese languages from the University of Tuebingen as well as a post-graduate economics degree from the College of Europe, Bruges.

Lucia Lopez is the Global Head of Credit in Moody’s Ratings Sustainable Finance group.

In her role, Lucia manages a global team of talented analysts responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to transparently integrate the impact of environmental, social, and governance considerations into credit ratings, analytics, research and outreach. This includes building data platforms, tools, and insights to assess the credit impact of these considerations in Moody’s Ratings rated universe.

The team also produces thematic research that continue to cement Moody's Ratings' thought leadership in Sustainable Finance and lead related outreach efforts with regulators, investors, and other market participants.

Lucia frequently represents the firm as a speaker through conversations with investors, policymakers and other market participants around the world.

Lucia brings multi-disciplinary expertise through past positions as a senior credit officer and senior underwriter in leading investment banks.

Before moving to the Sustainable Finance team, Lucia was a lead analyst in the EMEA Corporate Finance Group since 2018.

Prior to Moody’s, Lucia held several roles over 15 years at a number of banks including Deutsche Bank and Barclays, specializing in  leverage finance, commodities and natural resources.

Lucia holds a Masters in European Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Marianna Waltz is a Managing Director at Moody’s Ratings and has joined the company in 2011.

In her current role, Marianna leads the EMEA Project Infrastructure Finance ratings and research franchise, with responsibility for performance, execution and strategic direction across the region.

Previously, Marianna had run Moody’s ratings teams in Latin America, including the Corporate Finance, Infrastructure, and Financial Institutions groups across more than 15 countries.

She’s a member WeConnect International Advisory Board, a global non-profit organization that supports women-owned business around the world.

Marianna is a former Board Member of Moody’s Local, Moody’s affiliate for domestic capital markets in LatAm.

Prior to joining Moody’s, she developed a career as an equity sell side analyst and, from 2008 to 2011, she was the head of sell-side equity research at Banco do Brasil.

Marianna is a CFA charter holder and holds three Master’s degrees, including an MBA in Finance from IBMEC Business School; an MBA in Marketing from FundaçãoGetúlio Vargas –FGV; and a Master in Semiology from UFRJ.

Matt Robinson manages the Sovereign Risk Group’s Middle East and Africa team producing ratings and research regarding sovereign and supranational creditworthiness in Sub-Saharan Africa and Middle East/North Africa. He is responsible for managing staff located in London, Frankfurt, Dubai and New York.

Matt joined Moody’s in 2007 after a decade of macroeconomic and public policy experience. Prior to managing the Middle East and Africa sovereign ratings team, Matt was the Director of Sovereign Research, responsible for coordinating and contributing to the research produced by Moody’s global team of sovereign risk analysts. Matt previously managed the affairs of the Moody’s Economy.com Sydney office, providing independent economic analysis, data and forecasting and credit risk services to Moody’s Analytics’ worldwide client base. Before joining Moody’s, Matt worked as an economist and policy adviser in a number of public and private sector organisations, including Commonwealth Treasury and the Economic Division of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in Australia.

Matt received his bachelor of economics from the University of Newcastle(Australia) and his graduate degree from the Australian National University.

Kevin Maddick joined Moody’s in 2017, and has responsibility for a team of analysts covering project finance and infrastructure in EMEA. He has extensive experience in the financing of infrastructure and energy assets, as debt provider, as equity investor, and as financial advisor. He has structured, arranged or advised on over 200 project, secured corporate and asset financings globally. Kevin has also acted as Board Director of a portfolio of operating companies and of an investment holding company. Kevin was previously Head of Infrastructure and a Managing Director at NatWest, leading origination, execution, and financial modelling teams for debt, equity and advisory, during a 17-year period with the bank. Before that Kevin was responsible for new equity investments for 3 years whilst at Balfour Beatty Capital. Kevin spent the early 10 years of his career with Peninsular and Oriental Shipping, chartering tanker and dry bulk vessels worldwide, and in ship sale, purchase, financing and leasing, based in Europe and Asia. Kevin is a CFA Charterholder, a Chartered Management Accountant, a Chartered Shipbroker, and has an MA in Geography from Oxford University.
