Positive prospects as reforms, commodity environment and improved liquidity conditions support the region

Improved policy responses and a supportive commodity environment will help Sub-Saharan Africa manage the current inflationary shock, keeping economic growth on a solid footing and fostering a more conducive environment for reforms. However, persistent debt vulnerabilities, including fiscal constraints and high debt costs, continue to weigh on credit profiles.

 Discussion Topics:

  • What underpins the region’s solid growth prospects, despite the ongoing inflationary shock?
  • What are the main trends shaping financing conditions for regional governments?
  • What are the main structural challenges facing African economies?
This event is part of the State of Nations 2027 series.
