Sunny Nguyen has joined the Sydney office as an assistant director and economist. She earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of British Columbia, and a PhD in economics from the University of Sydney, where she also holds a Lecturer position. Before Moody’s, Sunny worked at the Reserve Bank of Australia across its research, economic and financial stability departments. She enjoys travelling, visiting art galleries and museums around the world, while painting and playing piano in her free time.

Shannon Nicoll is an economist with Moody’s Analytics. Based in Sydney, he provides analysis for countries across the Asia-Pacific region, particularly New Zealand. Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Wollongong. Prior to joining Moody’s Analytics, he worked at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.

Veasna Kong has joined Moody’s Analytics as a senior economist in the Asia-Pacific team, based in Australia. Veasna previously worked at the Australian Treasury where he managed a geoeconomics team. Before that he held various roles in international economics in both the private and public sectors. Veasna holds degrees in econometrics and business and currently lives in Canberra with his wife and two young daughters, following stints in Sydney and New York. In his spare time, Veasna enjoys cooking, hiking with his Airedale terrier Mango, tending to his native Australian garden, and attempting to stay fit.
