Marisol also works with current and prospective customers, strategic partners, and product development teams to identify strategic opportunities to enhance the potential of the solutions. Previously, she worked at S&P where she was the Global Head of KYC services and Entity Insights. During her career in Financial Crime, Marisol has built Managed Services and designed AML and third party risk programs for financial institutions in the U.S. and Europe.
She has also benchmarked and advised on more than 60 global AML/CDD policies with a deep focus on data requirements and the use of technology to streamline, automate and keep up to date the data gathering process. Marisol has an extensive legal and compliance background. In her 15 plus years, she has helped organizations develop and implement their compliance, anti-corruption and third-party due diligence programmes. Marisol is a dual qualified lawyer (Spain & UK) and holds two Masters in Law (LLM); International Corporate Governance, Financial Regulation, Economic Law and Comparative Business Law. She also holds an ICA international diploma in anti-money laundering.
Currently leading EMEA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Client and KYC Services at JP Morgan Chase, overseeing a team across multiple locations, managing global client lifecycle and onboarding programs. Delivered multimillion-dollar operational efficiencies by restructuring service models, reducing client onboarding timelines, and embedding digital automation frameworks.
Previously served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Global Banking at HSBC (Mexico & Argentina), leading business strategy, regulatory compliance, enterprise-wide transformation, and financial risk management. Hera U. Smith is a Director for Financial Crime Compliance Practice at Moody’s. As an industry practice lead, she focuses on regulatory developments and market trends in sanctions, money laundering and other areas of financial crime, translating them into product capabilities and thought leadership. She has built and headed global sanctions programs for financial institutions in the US and Europe. Additionally, she was the Co-chair of the ACFCS Nordics Chapter and a facilitator of the US State Department’s Sanctions Capacity Building Workshops in countries all over the world.
Before joining Moody’s, Hera worked at Danske Bank, where she developed the sanctions program and managed external commitments to regulators globally. She also headed the Global Sanctions Program at Associated Foreign Exchange, a global payment company now known as Corpay, and before that, East West Bank. In her early career, she worked as a litigation lawyer, and is a licensed attorney in California and the Philippines. She is a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) a Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS) and a Certified Sanctions Specialist (CSS). She also has an International Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance from the International Compliance Association (ICA) and helped draft the sanctions certifications exams for ACSS and ACAMS.

Aisling has worked in large corporate and commercial banks, tiny startups, building societies and fintechs for ten years. She built CDD files and completed a ton of EDD, as well as designing financial crime processes and writing policies and procedures. Aisling worked with cross-functional teams to make the best possible controls to mitigate financial crime. She often pops up on panels and at events talking about both Fraud and Financial Crime. She also support startups and scale-ups trying to make a difference in preventing financial crime.
Aisling is also a trained researcher working on a PhD in money laundering in the art market.
