Development of the Moody’s RMS North Atlantic Hurricane HD Models is well underway, representing a significant step forward in catastrophe modeling innovation. This webinar will walk through the view of hurricane risk Moody’s is submitting to the Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology (FCHLPM) in November 2026 for certification and use within residential rate filings in the state.

Jeff Waters is part of the Product Management team and is responsible for the North Atlantic hurricane models. He also supports other Americas climate models, including North America severe convective storm and winterstorm. Jeff provides technical expertise and support for catastrophe model solutions and their applications throughout the (re)insurance industry. He also generates product requirements for future updates and releases and helps develop the overall product strategy, messaging, thought leadership, and collateral to ensure commercial and technical success.
Jeff’s background is in meteorology and atmospheric science with a focus on tropical meteorology and climatology. He holds a Bachelor of Science in geography/meteorology from Ohio University and a Master of Science in meteorology from Penn State University. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the International Society of Catastrophe Managers, and the US Reinsurance Under 40s Group.
