Carola Schuler Managing Director, EMEA Banking Moody's Investors Service

Carola Schuler is a Managing Director in the Europe, Middle East and Africa banking team, based in Frankfurt. In this capacity, she is responsible for Moody’s analytical teams that rate banks primarily in the UK, the Eurozone and Central and Eastern Europe as well as non-bank financial companies across Europe. Carola has extensive experience in credit analysis and managing credit professionals.

Furthermore, Carola plays a leading role in Moody’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration efforts. Moody’s is committed to incorporating ESG risks into its credit analysis and Carola is one of Moody’s global coordinators of ESG analytical, research and outreach initiatives for financial institutions. 

Prior to joining Moody’s in 2008, Carola was a Director at the credit risk management division of Deutsche Bank where she worked in a number of different analytical and managerial functions in Germany and abroad, covering corporate finance, leveraged finance, financial institutions and sovereign risk across Europe, including time spent in Brussels (Belgium).

Carola has a double German-French Diploma in Business Administration from Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (HTW), Saarbrücken /Germany and the University of Metz/ France.

Anke Rindermann Associate Managing Director, Corporate Finance Moody's Investors Service

Anke Rindermann is an Associate Managing Director in the Corporate Finance Group and has been with Moody’s in Frankfurt since 2007.

Anke is managing a team of analysts covering Moody’s European real estate franchise. In addition, she is leading a team of analysts focusing on leisure, shipping, auto suppliers and forest products industries.

Prior roles at Moody’s included lead analyst responsibility for European paper and forest products companies, industrial gases manufacturers and cross-over packaging companies in EMEA.

Before joining Moody’s, Anke spent several years working in Credit Risk Management at Commerzbank in Frankfurt and New York and before that at Deutsche Bank. Swen Metzler Vice President – Senior Credit Officer, EMEA Banking Moody’s Investors Service

Swen joined Moody’s Investors Service in August 2010 as a member of the of the Financial Institutions Group. He is the lead analyst for several German, Austrian and Swiss banks.

Prior to joining Moody’s Swen was a portfolio manager and buy- side analyst for global banks and financial institutions with Deka Investment, Frankfurt. He graduated in Business Administration from Goethe University of Frankfurt and is a CFA Charterholder.

Steffen Dyck Senior Vice President, Sovereign Risk Group Moody's Investors Service

Steffen Dyck is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group.

Based in Frankfurt, he is the lead analyst for a portfolio of European sovereigns and multilateral institutions.

Up until early 2018, Steffen was the lead analyst for number of sovereigns and multilaterals in the Middle East, including Egypt and most of the Gulf Cooperation Council members.

Before relocating to Frankfurt in June 2015, Steffen was based in Moody’s Singapore office, where he covered sovereigns in the Asia-Pacific region as well as in the Middle East.

Prior to joining Moody’s in 2012, Steffen worked for more than six years with Deutsche Bank’s Risk Analysis team in Frankfurt and Singapore, covering macroeconomic and sovereign risk analysis across Asia (ex-Japan), Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Alexander Hendricks is an Associate Managing Director in Moody’s European Banking team. Alexander has responsibility for the analytical teams covering financial institutions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He joined Moody’s in 2013.

Prior to Moody’s, Alexander’s most recent role was Director in Company Research at Deutsche Bank, where he had responsibility for financial institutions in Germany and Austria, and co-responsibility for European investment banks. Marie Lafontaine Head of the Business model & Capital adequacy section in ECB Banking Supervision European Central Bank (ECB)

Marie Lafontaine has worked in the Banking Supervision arm of the European Central Bank (ECB) since the creation of the Single Supervisory Mechanism in November 2014. She directly supervised banks in Austria, Belgium and Germany as a member of Joint Supervisory Teams before heading the Business model & Capital adequacy section in the Directorate General Horizontal Line Supervision since 1 January 2022. With her team, she provides subject matter expertise on business model and capital adequacy to line supervisors, supporting bank-specific supervisory action based on insights from horizontal assessments. This includes viability and sustainability assessments as well as know-how on capital planning and internal capital adequacy assessment processes. Marie also contributes to the definition and implementation of the supervisory priorities, contributing closely to the digital transformation flagship project.

With a technical post degree in economics from the University of Panthéon-Assas in Paris, Alexis has 15+ years’ experience in risk management and valuation, having been working in sales, pre-sales, product, project management & strategy roles across various environments (banks, consultancy and software houses).

Prior to his current role at Moody’s Analytics, Alexis was leading sales and pre-sales for the French speaking region at Numerix, addressing derivatives pricing, market & counterparty risks as well as Insurance ALM risks solutions spanning both sell and buy side segments. In addition to this responsibility, Alexis also oversaw regulation topics (Basel III, FRTB, EMIR, Solvency 2), working closely with Quantitative Research and Product Management teams in order to foster both development and new generation of the Numerix Solutions. Andreas Thomae is a manager in the team of sustainability and corporate governance with Deka since 2022.

He worked as a fund manager in the equity team of Deka the last 17y responsible for European equities and as a buy side analyst for global financials. There he coordinated corporate governance issues with the sustainability and corporate governance group the last 5y.

She has joined Moody’s in December 2021, joining from ISS and formerly oekom research (acquired by ISS in 2018), where she was part of the ESG business unit’s leadership team and, over the last ten years, held various positions in business development, client coverage, stewardship and engagement. Julia has been working in Sustainability, CSR and ESG since 1993, when she started as a researcher, first at the German Wuppertal Institute and then at Versailles University in France, where she completed her PhD thesis in Environmental Economics. She later joined the French consulting firm O2 France as a consultant advising corporates on environmental and sustainability strategy and environmentally friendly product design. From 2003 to 2008 she contributed to building and rolling out the French postal operator Groupe La Poste’s CSR strategy, before joining the global environmental NGO WWF, where her role was to lead the Paris-based team in charge with managing corporate relations, sustainability partnerships and corporate fundraising.
