Sally Yim is a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group. Based in Hong Kong SAR, China, Sally is the Head of APAC Financial Institutions, responsible for Moody’s analytical teams covering ratings and research on APAC banks, insurance companies, and non-bank financial institutions such as securities and leasing companies. She is also a co-head of Moody’s Global Banking and Global Insurance & Asset Management rating franchises. In addition, Sally leads the Global Financial Institutions Group’s Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) efforts.

Sally joined Moody’s in February 2005 as an Associate Analyst in New York, covering property & casualty insurers. She transferred to Hong Kong in 2006 and completed a short stint in the Corporate Finance Group, supporting analysts in the
oil & gas, petrochemical and steel sectors. Sally rejoined the Financial Institutions Group as an Analyst in January 2007. Since then, Sally has covered various Asian financial institutions, including insurance companies, banks and securities firms and subsequently, became a manager overseeing various teams covering the ratings and research of Greater China and Korean financial institutions.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Sally worked as a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young LLP in New York, specializing in private and public insurers. Sylvia Chen, based in Singapore, is a senior sustainable officer with Amundi. She previously worked at BNP Paribas and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation and had experiences in the debt capital markets origination and issuance space, including ESG and green bonds. Sylvia graduated from the University of British Columbia with a bachelor of commerce majoring in accounting and finance (honours), and the London School of Economics and Political Science with a masters in accounting and finance (Merit).

Luanne is the Group Chief Sustainability Officer at CIMB, one of ASEAN’s leading banking groups, where she is responsible for transforming CIMB into a leader in responsible banking in Asia. She is also the Working Group Chair of the CEO Action Network Malaysia, and on the Steering Group of the UN-convened Net Zero Banking Alliance.

Luanne has extensive experience in sustainability, strategy and transformation, as well as change management, and has been involved in various fields, including financial services, consulting and startups. She has a Bachelor's and Master’s in Manufacturing Engineering from Cambridge, and a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability from Harvard University Extension School. Luanne is the recipient of accolades such as EcoBusiness A-list, Top Sustainability Superwoman in Asia, and Top 10 Women in Sustainability in APAC.

Sonja leads the IIF’s work on sovereign debt policy and sustainable finance, focusing on research and advocacy for the Institute’s global membership across the financial services industry. Her research interests include global debt markets and risks to financial stability; sovereign debt stress and debt restructuring; the economic impact and financial market pricing of climate and environmental risks; and capital markets development in emerging markets. Her policy work on behalf of the IIF includes outreach and liaison efforts vis-à-vis the G20/G7, the Paris Club, the IMF/World Bank and other multilaterals, global regulators and standard setters, and the Central Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS). She also serves on the boards of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (IC-VCM).

Sonja has spent over 20 years in banking and financial markets, including sell-side research in London and New York as well as stints as an emerging markets economist and bank credit analyst. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and has an MBA and BA from the University of California, Berkeley. Frank Mirenzi is a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer in Moody’s Financial Institutions Group in Sydney. Frank covers a number of Australian major and regional banks. He is also the lead analyst for the Australian insurance sector.

Prior to join Moody’s in October 2013, Frank worked as an analyst, most recently with Royal Bank of Scotland plc, covering Australian banks and insurance entities.

He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University.

Based in Beijing, Nicholas supports cross-border rating activities of Chinese banks. Previously, he was Moody’s key point of contact on the Chinese regional and local government sector.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Nicholas advised the Asian Development Bank on various China banking initiatives. He has extensive credit experience, having worked at HSBC, Standard Chartered and ANZ on a range of sectors and issues related to risk assessment for Basel II and other regulatory frameworks. Earlier in his career he was a senior economist with the World Bank.

Nicholas holds a Ph. D. in International Finance and M.A. in Economics from Georgetown University, and a B.S. in Mathematical Statistics from Sichuan University. He is also a CFA charter-holder.
