Patrick Winsbury is the Associate Managing Director of Moody’s Corporate Finance and Financial Institutions Groups in Sydney, covering the Australian and New Zealand markets. Patrick moved to Sydney in 2006, following postings in New York and Singapore with Moody’s Financial Institutions Group. He served as the Representative Director for Moody’s Singapore office from 1995-1999, having previously worked in Moody’s Hong Kong and London offices.
Patrick holds a Masters degree from the Cranfield School of Management, a B.A.in European Studies from the University of Bath and a Mineur from l’Université deMontréal.
Katrina Ell is a Head of Asia Economics in the Sydney office of Moody’s. Katrina manages the Asia-Pacific edition of Economy.com and is responsible for the research, analysis and forecasting of economies throughout the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Australia and New Zealand. Katrina is regularly quoted by international media such as CNBC, Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and Sky News. She previously worked as an analyst at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority. Katrina received her bachelor’s degree in economics (honours) from Macquarie University and is currently completing her Masters in Applied Economics at Macquarie University.
| John Manning is a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer, covering the sub-sovereign and higher education sectors across Australia and New Zealand. In his role, John has overall responsibility for ratings and research on regional and local governments and related issuers, including universities. John joined Moody’s in Sydney in 2017 and brings extensive management experience from the Australian finance sector, spanning global asset management, investment, commercial and retail banking, as well as credit risk management over a 35-year period. Prior to joining Moody’s, John’s past roles included heading up the Asia Pacific credit research function at Aberdeen Asset Management, as well as analytical, research and credit strategy roles at Royal Bank of Scotland, Société Générale and the Australian and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd. He has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. |

Matthew joined Moody’s Sydney office in2010 as a lead analyst covering a range of corporate and infrastructure sectors ,including real estate investment trusts, metals and mining, oil and gas and steel sectors, among others. Matthew has also covered the consumer products and retail sectors with Moody’s in the US.
He has extensive experience both in the investment grade and high yield spaces.

Jonathan Englert is the founder of AndironGroup (www.andirongroup.com) He is a noted communications strategist specializing in disruptive technology, cybersecurity and the sharing economy and building movements around concepts, areas of expertise and platforms. He is the founder of RedPhoneCyber, the first-of-its-kind cyber crisis communications team.
As a journalist, he has written for The New York Times and many other publications on issues ranging from public affairs to technology to adventure sports. Jonathan is regularly commissioned to produce books, speeches and media commentary for well-known public, political and business figures. The Chicago Tribune called his full-length nonfiction book The Collar (Houghton Mifflin 2006) "an impressive portrait". He is the recipient of the Nona Balakian Award for Literary Criticism, the Sackett Graduate Award for law and journalism, a grant from The Louisville Institute (a Lily Foundation partner) and a Maxwell Award for Best Novel.
In 2012, his work was nominated to the final voting round of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism's 100 Great Stories. He holds a B.A from Bard College and an M.S. with Honors from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Sydney which seeks to better define the nature of technological (and other) invention.
Jeremy Kirk is a Cybersecurity Journalist based in Sydney who writes about the growing risks to companies from cybercriminals and nation-states seeking to compromise data.
Jeremy is an editor with Information Security Media Group, a U.S.-based publishing company focused on computer security. He is also the creator of The Ransomware Files, a podcast that speaks to organisations that have navigated their way through a ransomware incident and learns how they fought back.
Frank Mirenzi is a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer in Moody’s Financial Institutions Group in Sydney. Frank covers a number of Australian major and regional banks. He is also the lead analyst for the Australian insurance sector.
Prior to join Moody’s in October 2013, Frank worked as an analyst, most recently with Royal Bank of Scotland plc, covering Australian banks and insurance entities.

Saranga moved back to Sydney in mid-2019, following 3 years in Singapore.
Prior to moving to Singapore she spent 7 years in Sydney covering mostly natural resources companies. Prior to joining Moody’s, Saranga spent 5 years as a credit analyst in Sri Lanka.
Saranga is a CFA charter holder. She also holds a Bachelor of Business (Hons) from the University of Wisconsin - Superior in the U.S

Prior to re-joining Moody’s, Nick worked at QBE where he was Portfolio Manager — Global Infrastructure & Nature Based Solutions and, prior to that, Pollination, where he was Executive Director — Global listed infrastructure. In earlier roles, Nick was covered the infrastructure sector for UniSuper and was portfolio manager for timberland and private equity, as well as holding previous positions at the Australian Office of Financial Management and the Australian Treasury.
