Saffron Taylor is an Associate Analytics & Model Analyst in the Model Analytics team at Moody's, based in London. Saffron contributes to the calibration and validation of Moody's RMS catastrophe models, including work on the Moody's RMS North America Severe Convective Storm HD Model ahead of its commercial release. Most recently, she led a multi-peril impact study analyzing over 1 million U.S. residential properties across hurricane, severe convective storm, and wildfire models, examining how AI-powered property intelligence from Moody's CAPE transforms modeled loss differentiation when secondary modifiers are applied at scale. Before joining Moody's, Saffron completed her MSc in Environmental Data Science and Machine Learning at Imperial College London, graduating with Distinction. Her thesis, conducted in collaboration with Moody's storm surge modeling team, developed machine learning approaches for predicting wave heights of landfalling hurricanes. Saffron also holds a First Class BSc in Theoretical Physics and previously worked as a marine biologist in the Maldives.
