Please Join us on Tuesday, August 29th for the next event in our webinar series: Moody's Analytics & Raymond James in Conversation, where we will explore current trends in housing and mortgage markets as we lay out an outlook for the rest of the year and 2024.

Mortgage delinquencies remain near record lows as borrowers benefit from having locked in ultralow interest rates and as jobs remain plentiful.  With both the labor market and home prices projected to remain relatively strong, near-term downside risks to mortgage portfolios are limited to higher risk segments.

But what’s good for the goose isn’t always good for the gander.  Today’s high mortgage rates have all but eliminated refinance activity and are weighing heavily on the ability of buyers to purchase homes, depressing origination volumes. We’ll explore current trends in housing and mortgage markets as we lay out an outlook for the rest of the year and 2024.

In addition to the baseline, we’ll highlight risks – both upside and downside – that investors, originators, and servicers will want to consider.
