Lenny Ajzenman is an Associate Managing Director with Moody’s Ratings, and co-heads the Technology, Media and Telecom Team within U.S. Corporate Finance. Prior to his current position, Lenny chaired rating committees for companies across a variety of industry sectors and covered a portfolio of investment and speculative grade business and consumer services companies. Lenny was instrumental in the development and rollout of Moody’s Probability of Default Ratings and Loss Given Default Assessments for speculative grade issuers and has published frequently on leveraged finance topics.
Prior to joining Moody’s in June 2004, Lenny was Vice President and Controller at MacAndrews & Forbes Group Inc. In addition, Lenny was a manager in the mergers and acquisitions and audit departments of Deloitte & Touche. Lenny holds a BBA from Baruch College and an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business.
Jason Cuomo is a Senior Vice President in the Corporate Finance Group. He is the lead rating analyst for a diversified portfolio of high-yield and investment grade cable, telecommunication, and media credits that hold more than $120 billion in debt. He is a voting member of rating committees, and a rating chair. Mr. Cuomo joined the firm in 2006.
Mr. Cuomo is a thought leader on individual credits, sector outlooks, financial adequacy, emerging credit trends and accounting topics supported by at least 300 publications. His work has influenced capital market flows, investment decisions, global changes in analytic methodologies, credit policy, and US GAAP. He is also active in corporate projects to develop technology solutions that automate the firm’s analytic tools and processes, as Co-head of the Americas initiative to identify and adopt enabling technologies.
Outside Moody’s, Mr. Cuomo is frequently quoted by the media and has been a featured guest at investor and industry events where he has been a panelist and key note speaker. He also actively participates in professional initiatives to advance the quality of financial information for the investment community in collaboration with standards-setters, academics and other influential organizations. He is an active member of the Center For Audit Quality’s SEC regulations committee that meets regularly with the SEC to discuss current and future accounting policy and regulation.
Prior to joining Moody’s, Mr. Cuomo was at Ernst & Young advising private equity firms on M&A deals totaling more than $5 billion. Earlier, Mr. Cuomo worked on the buy-side at a private equity firm performing corporate development and investment activities for a portfolio of leveraged buy-outs and new technology and telecommunication ventures. Mr. Cuomo started his career as a CPA earning his distinction working as an auditor for top-ranked international accounting firms.
Mr. Cuomo holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance from Montclair State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
Emile El Nems is a Vice President - Senior Credit Officer on the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Team covering a portfolio of investment grade and high yield issuers in a number of verticals, including social media, diversified telecommunication service providers, media, entertainment and interactive media services.
Prior to his work on the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Team, Emile covered issuers on the Homebuilding, Building Materials and Packaging Team. Prior to joining Moody’s in 2019 as a VP-Lead Analyst, Emile was a portfolio manager at a large US hedge fund for five years and a managing director responsible for a Technology, Media and Telecommunications portfolio at a European hedge fund for seven years.
Before his asset management experience, Emile was a principal in the Investment Banking Group at Thomas Weisel Partners and a team leader in the Investment Banking Group at Banc of America Securities covering global wireline and wireless telecommunications, cable, and media companies. Emile received his MBA in finance from Columbia University and BS in Chemical Engineering from Stevens.
