Nick Hill is a Managing Director and heads the Credit Strategy & Guidance function within the Credit Strategy & Standards division in Moody’s Ratings. 

Based in Paris, he joined Moody’s in March 2010, initially heading the France / BeNeLux banking team. 

Since then he has managed successively larger teams, led the global revision of Moody’s bank rating methodology, which was published in 2015, and latterly was co-head of the global banking team. 

Prior to joining Moody’s, Nick worked as a bank analyst in a variety of roles. These include banking supervision at the Bank of England and Financial Services Authority, where he began his career; sell-side equity research on French banks in a #1 ranked team at Morgan Stanley; rating UK and continental European banks at Standard & Poor’s; and providing balance sheet advice to financial institutions with RBS. 

A graduate of Christ’s College, University of Cambridge in the UK, Nick holds an MA in English, a diploma in French, and a postgraduate certificate in Finance from Birkbeck College, University of London.   

Gene Fang is an Associate Managing Director in the Sovereign and Sub-sovereign Ratings Group in Asia. Based in Singapore, he manages the team responsible for sovereign and sub-sovereign ratings in the Asia Pacific region, as well as analysts covering regional and local governments in China. In addition, Gene leads Moody’s Digital Economy strategy in the Asia Pacific region, including engagement with regulators and market participants on Moody’s initiatives in digital finance.

 Before joining Moody’s, Gene worked as an investment banker for J.P. Morgan and Citigroup, where we covered financial institutions in Asia. Gene graduated from Columbia University in political science. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

Pete Speer is an Associate Managing Director in Moody’s Oil and Gas Team, covering a portfolio of investment grade and high yield energy companies. His portfolio includes integrated oil, exploration and production, drilling, oilfield services and midstream companies. He joined Moody’s in 2003 in the Accounting Specialists Group, working alongside energy rating analysts and helping them to assess the reliability and quality of issuers’ financial reporting and controls. Before joining Moody’s, Pete was a senior manager in the national office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. For two years he consulted with audit engagement teams on a variety of complex financial accounting and reporting issues. Prior to his assignment in the national office, Pete was resident in the Houston office and served as the audit engagement senior manager for several multi-national energy industry clients. Pete is a Certified Public Accountant and is licensed in Texas and Michigan. Pete graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Elena Nadtotchi is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s Energy Team and a lead analyst on a portfolio of investment-grade and high-yield energy companies. Elena is an experienced credit professional with sound risk judgement, underpinned by 20+ years of investment and rating portfolio management. She is also an energy industry expert with extensive experience in other key commodities markets. Elena is Moody’s coordinator for oil and gas price assumptions and a leading contributor to credit and industry-focused research and an expert presenter at various investor and industry forums and media.

Before moving to New York in 2017, Elena was based in London. She rotated coverage of various commodity sectors, including North American energy companies and energy infrastructure (since 2017), EMEA Integrated Oil and Gas and Mining; and EMEA chemical, nutrition and nuclear energy services industries. She also helped to initiate rating coverage in industrial and commodity sectors as Moody’s expanded in the emerging markets, including through support of acquisitions by Moody’s. Elena is a co-author of Moody's Integrated Oil and Gas rating methodology and was a coauthor of earlier Chemicals and Metals and Mining industry methodologies in previous years.

Before joining Moody’s, Elena worked as a project finance and corporate banker for various international banks. She started her career at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, where she originated financing for the roll out of telecom infrastructure in Central Europe, as well as infrastructure projects in EMEA and Central Asia. Elena’s first degree is in Applied Mathematics, and she also holds MA degree in Economics and MSc degree in Investment Management.

Joanna Fic is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s EMEA Infrastructure Finance team, based in London. She is currently responsible for a portfolio of utilities and transport infrastructure companies in the United Kingdom and Africa, in addition to certain transport infrastructure companies in Norway and Turkey. With extensive credit experience across both the utility and infrastructure sectors, Joanna has a deep understanding of both conventional and complex structured financing arrangements.

Over the course of her career at Moody’s, Joanna has written extensively on transport infrastructure credit, covering airports, ports and toll roads. She has contributed to the development of a number of transport infrastructure methodologies and was the author of Moody’s Rating Methodology for Privately Managed Toll Roads, published in October 2017. Joanna has also published widely on European utilities, including in Germany, United Kingdom and Central and Eastern Europe. A highly regarded analyst and respected commentator, Joanna is a frequent speaker at conferences, investor roundtables and other events.

Prior to joining Moody’s in 2007, Joanna was a credit risk manager at Citigroup in Warsaw, where she was responsible for a diversified portfolio of corporates. Joanna holds a master’s degree in Finance and Banking from Warsaw School of Economics.

Jingjing (Nicky) Dang is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s Credit Strategy and Guidance Group. Based in Shanghai, Nicky is responsible for covering a portfolio of China’s regional and local governments and market outreach on enhancing the transparency of relevant methodologies. She also focuses on China credit-related research and market outreach, and drives and coordinates research and credit-related initiatives covering major regional credit events. 

Nicky joined Moody’s New York office in February 2007 as an Associate Analyst. She was the lead analyst on various Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) and Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) transactions in the Structured Finance Group. Prior to joining Moody’s Shanghai in February 2023, Nicky was an Associate Managing Director and the head of the Consumer ABS New Ratings Americas team, which covers credit card, auto, student loan, personal loan, timeshares and other consumer related ABS sectors. 

Nicky holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from New York University and a BA in Economics from Beijing Technology and Business University. She is also a CFA charterholder.

Aurélien Mali is currently Vice President Senior Credit Officer. He acts as the firm’s expert in Africa. His position is a combined lead analyst and analytical outreach/credit ambassador role. As a member of the Sovereign Risk Group since August 2002, he was involved in Moody’s sovereign ratings in Europe and the Middle East at the beginning of his career. Over the last 8 years, he has been at the forefront of Moody’s growing footprint in Africa. He has been sovereign lead or backup analyst for almost all sovereign issuers and multilateral development banks we rate in Africa. Aurelien was relocated to our Dubai office early 2013 from our London office. Aurelien manages a research programme that supports the development of Moody’s reputation for analytical insight and excellence. He also assumes a greater role in participating in regular Moody’s and third-party conferences on the continent, Africa-related investor briefings, and undertaking analytical outreach to inform and explain Moody’s credit judgments. Aurelien also supports other Moody’s franchises using his unique experience and visibility across multiple sectors and asset classes in the region. Finally, he remains the lead/backup sovereign analyst for few countries including Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola and South Africa. Aurélien holds a BSc in Economics and a postgraduate degree (DEA) in Money, Finance and Banking from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris.

Jiming Zou is a lead analyst at Moody’s Ratings basic industries team in New York, where he covers a portfolio of investment-grade and high-yield chemical companies and construction-related companies in North America. Jiming is also an active member of Moody’s Pan-Asian Impact BRG.

Prior to joining the New York team in 2017, he worked at Moody’s offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Frankfurt, where he covered Chinese and European corporate debt issuers in sectors such as real estate, steel, cement, chemical, construction, semiconductor, telecom equipment and business conglomerates.

Jiming graduated with a Diplom-Kaufmann degree from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Prior to joining Moody’s, he worked in fund of hedge funds, M&A and equity capital market teams of several financial institutions in Europe. Jiming is fluent in Chinese, English and German.

Joining Moody’s Investors Service in 2011, Terry currently serves as a senior analyst in the Technology sector covering primarily semiconductor firms and a variety of business services firms.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Terry spent 14 years in credit analysis at HSH Nordbank, Credit Agricole, Bank of Tokyo, and Nordea, where he was the manager of the credit analysis group in New York. During that time, Terry had a wide range of analytic challenges ranging from work in corporate restructurings and bankruptcies (including the developing legal regimes in the BRICs), to transportation (aircraft pre-delivery deposit and take-out financing and leases, rail car securitization, and infrastructure projects), project and export financing, wireless telecom, technology, auto parts and diversified manufacturing. Before moving to credit analysis, Terry spent about four years doing valuations of non-traded securities (debt, equity and derivatives) for solvency, restructuring and litigation cases, while working for Ernst & Young and Houlihan Lokey.

Terry holds a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a MBA from Baruch. Terry completed the written and oral exams toward a PhD in business. In the program he focused on financial economics and did research on the application of term structure models in mortgage backed securities.

Terry is a CFA charterholder.

Stephen is a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of banking. He is co-responsible for global bank ratings and is based in London where he primarily focuses on banks in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

From 2022-2025 he was the Managing Director and Regional Head of EMEA, Stephen also served as the Country Manager for the United Kingdom for Moody’s Ratings. He was responsible for core business strategy, governance and oversight in the EMEA region.

Before relocating to London, Stephen held the position as Global Co-Head of Banking from 2010 to 2022, based in Hong Kong. In this role, he was responsible for global bank ratings with a primary focus on banks across the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Stephen worked at J.P. Morgan in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong in various senior credit, research and rating advisory positions. From 1990-1996 he was a bank analyst at S&P Global in London and Paris.

Stephen began his career as a banking regulator at the Bank of England. He is a graduate of the University of Oxford, where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
