Mervyn Tang joined Schroders in 2021, based in Singapore. He holds two complementary roles. As Investment
Director, Global Equities, Mervyn represents Schroders’ global equities investment capabilities across Asia,
delivering investment insights, market outlook and portfolio solutions to asset owners and wealth partners in
the region. As Head of Sustainability, Mervyn works with Asia clients on designing and implementing their
sustainability investment objectives and frameworks, including the development of sustainable investment
solutions across asset classes. He leads the company’s Regional Centre of Excellence for Sustainability, driving
Schroders’ sustainability strategic initiatives.
Prior to joining Schroders, Mervyn was Global Head of ESG Research at Fitch Ratings, overseeing a research
team of 4 analysts across London and Hong Kong which primarily focuses on thematic and cross sector ESG
research. Over the past two decades he has held roles in finance and policy across geographies and asset
classes, at MSCI, the Bank of England, and Citigroup.
Mervyn holds a Master of Arts (Oxon) degree in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford
and a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of London. Mervyn is a Chartered Financial
Analyst (CFA) charterholder, as well as a teaching faculty member of the Wealth Management Institute and
Nanyang Technology University. Mervyn is an executive committee member of the Singapore Sustainable
Finance Association (SSFA) and co-lead of their Transition Finance workstream, and co-chair of the Investment
Management Association of Singapore’s (IMAS) ESG working group.
