Jeanine Arnold EMEA Leveraged Finance Coordinator, Corporate Finance Moody’s Ratings

Jeanine Arnold is an Senior Vice President in the Corporate Finance Group (CFG) team based in Paris.

She leads the Paris-based CFG team, which is responsible for a wide range of credits across the healthcare, retail, transportation, IT, gaming and business and consumer services industries. She is also the EMEA Leveraged Finance Coordinator.

During her time at Moody’s Jeanine has been a lead analyst for European Airlines and Aerospace and Defense companies as well as investment holding companies, manufacturing and semiconductor companies.

Prior to joining Moody’s Jeanine was a Director and Supervising Analyst at Fitch Ratings based in London, specializing in the rating of transportation names across Europe, the CIS and Middle East, including Rail, Airlines, Shipping and Ports. Prior to this, she worked in the credit risk management and investment banking teams of Bank of America Merrill Lynch as well as RBS, where she managed credit finance transactions for European Industrials within the Automotive, Chemical and Manufacturing sectors.

Jeanine qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006 from Ernst and Young in London and has a Joint Honors degree in French and German from the University of Nottingham.

Colin Ellis Managing Director, Global Credit Strategist Moody's Ratings

Colin Ellis is Moody’s first Global Credit Strategist, and a Managing Director in the Credit Strategy team. 

In his current role, Colin provides thought leadership for the rating agency that deepens the understanding of ratings and debt capital markets through rigorous and quantitative research. He leads Moody’s teams working on default and ratings analytics and on global financial analysis, including bank projections and stress testing. Colin is also a member of Moody’s Macroeconomic Board, which sets the global forecasts that underpin Moody’s universe of ratings.

Colin joined Moody’s in February 2012, initially leading the work of the Macroeconomic Board and authoring the quarterly Global Macro Outlook. He subsequently worked in the Financial Institutions Group, developing quantitative forward-looking analyses. For 8 years he was the Chief Credit Officer for EMEA, leading analysis and coordination of credit and ratings across all rating franchises in the region. He was also the ‘Head of UK’ for MIS, responsible for the running of Moody’s UK operations, from 2019-2022 including the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Prior to joining Moody’s, Colin held roles at the Bank of England, Daiwa Capital Markets, the BVCA and at Birmingham University. He has published papers on a range of topics including corporate investment and pricing, credit risk, private equity, data uncertainty, stress testing, financial contagion and monetary policy. Colin holds degrees from York University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Middlesex University. He is a Visiting Professor at Hult International Business School and LSBU, and is also a Fellow of the RSA.

Sven Reinke Managing Director, Corporate Finance Moody’s Ratings

Sven Reinke is a Managing Director in Moody’s Corporate Finance Group. Sven is responsible for a team on London-based Lead Analysts covering Commodities, TMT and Business and Consumer Services sectors. Sven joined Moody’s in the autumn of 2013 with 12 years’ experience in a number of different corporate credit roles. During his first nine years at Moody’s, Sven was a Lead Analyst covering a number of different corporate sectors.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Sven spent six years as a Senior Corporate Credit Officer at UBS Investment Bank in London responsible for the credit risk management of a portfolio of corporates in different industries. Before joining UBS, Sven was the Lead Credit Analyst for Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi’s German and Benelux blue chip counterparties. At the start of his career, Sven spent four years as a Credit Analyst at Deutsche Bank’s German mid-cap credit risk department.

Martin Hallmark Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance Group Moody's Ratings

Martin Hallmark is a Senior Vice President at Moody’s in the EMEA Corporate Finance Group in London. He joined Moody’s in June 2014 and has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and credit analysis.

Before joining Moody’s he spent 7 years as a Senior Analyst at CVC Credit Partners analysing and monitoring investments within the European leveraged finance and high yield markets. Prior to CVC Credit Partners he was at RBS where he was responsible for origination, structuring and execution of leveraged finance transactions both in the European and the UK mid-cap markets, including 4 years in Milan. Prior to that, he worked at BDO Stoy Hayward where he covered auditing, accounting and Corporate Finance sectors.

Martin is a Chartered Accountant and holds a degree in Music from Cambridge University.

Ian is an Associate Managing Director within the Structured Finance Group with primary responsibilities of managing the team in charge of monitoring Corporate Securitization transactions which include CLOs, ABS SMEs, ABCP, Repacks and CMBS.

Ian joined Moody’s in August 2001 and was lead analyst on rating various types of CDOs and Consumer ABS structures until April 2013 when he moved to his current role.

Sean Marion heads up Moody’s EMEA Structured Finance Group, based in London. He is responsible for overseeing both primary issuance and surveillance functions for Consumer Assets, Corporate Assets and Covered Bonds, with teams based in London, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid and Milan.

Prior to joining the Structured Finance Group he was a London-based Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group, responsible for ratings coverage in the Nordics, Baltics, South-Eastern Europe and emerging markets in the Middle East and Africa.

Before relocating to London in 2011, Mr. Marion held various positions of progressive responsibility in Moody’s, including working in the firm’s offices in Mexico City and Toronto. Before joining Moody’s, Mr. Marion worked for The Economist Intelligence Unit, conducting research on macroeconomic and country risk. Mr. Marion holds graduate degrees in economics from the Université Paris I (Sorbonne) and the London School of Economics. He also holds an undergraduate degree from Bishop’s University, Canada. Christina Padgett is an Associate Managing Director in Moody’s Corporate Finance Group and leads the Leveraged Finance Research and Analytics team. She spends most of her time chairing speculative grade rating committees and producing credit research with a focus on the leveraged finance market and private equity. 

Before joining Moody’s, Christina was a vice president at JPMorganChase in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Prior to her experience in investment banking, Christina finished the bank’s Credit Training program and worked in Europe Corporate Finance and Credit Audit. She received a Masters in International Political Economy from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs and a B.A. in History from William Smith College.

Mike Carruthers Senior Managing Director and Co-Chief Investment Officer Blackstone

Mike Carruthers is a Senior Managing Director and the Co-Chief Investment Officer for Blackstone Credit’s European and APAC private credit businesses. Mr. Carruthers is involved in the origination, researching, structuring, and managing of our investments. 

Mr. Carruthers re-joined the London team in 2022 after having previously relocated to Toronto, Canada to focus on BX Credit origination efforts in Canada and the Midwest.  Mr. Carruthers previously worked in the London office of Blackstone Credit from 2006 – 2019. Prior to joining Blackstone Credit, Mr. Carruthers worked in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse.

In his current role, Colin provides thought leadership for the rating agency that deepens the understanding of ratings and debt capital markets through rigorous and quantitative research. He leads Moody’s teams working on default and ratings analytics and on global financial analysis, including bank projections and stress testing. Colin is also a member of Moody’s Macroeconomic Board, which sets the global forecasts that underpin Moody’s universe of ratings.

Colin joined Moody’s in February 2012, initially leading the work of the Macroeconomic Board and authoring the quarterly Global Macro Outlook. He subsequently worked in the Financial Institutions Group, developing quantitative forward-looking analyses. For 8 years he was the Chief Credit Officer for EMEA, leading analysis and coordination of credit and ratings across all rating franchises in the region. He was also the ‘Head of UK’ for MIS, responsible for the running of Moody’s UK operations, from 2019-2022 including the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Prior to joining Moody’s, Colin held roles at the Bank of England, Daiwa Capital Markets, the BVCA and at Birmingham University. He has published papers on a range of topics including corporate investment and pricing, credit risk, private equity, data uncertainty, stress testing, financial contagion and monetary policy. Colin holds degrees from York University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Middlesex University. He is a Visiting Professor at Hult International Business School and LSBU, and is also a Fellow of the RSA.

David Beadle Vice President - Senior Credit Officer, Corporate Finance Moody’s Ratings

David Beadle joined Moody’s in 2014 and covers retail industry credits in the UK

and Western Europe as a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer in the EMEA

Corporate Finance Group in London.

He covers a number of UK retailers, including the grocers, Tesco and Wm Morrison,

fuel forecourt operator Euro Garages, and fashion businesses, House of Fraser,

Matalan and New Look. His coverage also includes French, German and Dutch

issuers.

Prior to joining Moody's David had spent more than 15 years as a credit analyst

Ernesto Bisagno is a Vice President – Sr Credit Officer in Moody’s Corporate Finance Group. Ernesto is the EMEA tobacco analyst and also covers the EMEA food, consumer goods and retail sectors.

Ernesto joined Moody’s in June 2014 with an extensive professional experience in risk management and credit analysis in several leading financial institutions in the UK and Italy, most recently with Citigroup and UBS where he covered energy, metals, mining and chemicals across Western Europe and the UK.

Ernesto was also a senior auditor with PWC earlier in his career. Ernesto holds an Economics degree from Università degli Studi di Genova and is also a CFA Charter Holder.

Fiona is a Vice President -Senior Analyst within Moody's Investors Service Corporate Finance Group based in London. She manages a portfolio of investment grade and high yield corporates across diversified sectors. Immediately before her current role Fiona was a member of Moody's Analytics Credit, Risk and Lending team. Fiona joined Moody's in 2011 bringing nearly 20 years of banking experience. Prior to joining Moody's Fiona worked in the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of a New York-based multinational investment bank and previously in the Leveraged Acquisition Finance team of a Boston-based corporate finance house. She commenced her career with an investment bank in Sydney. Fiona holds a B.Sc. Gilberto Ramos is an Assistant Vice President-Analyst in the Corporate Finance Group (CFG) team based in Paris. Gilberto is lead analyst for a portfolio of high-yield issuers on the healthcare,

pharmaceutical and retail industries in Europe. During his time at Moody’s, Gilberto has also covered European infrastructure companies, including airports, ports and rail infrastructure managers and has contributed to number of Moody’s reports on those topics.

Ian is an Associate Managing Director within the Structured Finance Group with primary responsibilities of managing the team in charge of monitoring Corporate Securitization transactions which include CLOs, ABS SMEs, ABCP, Repacks and CMBS.

Ian joined Moody’s in August 2001 and was lead analyst on rating various types of CDOs and Consumer ABS structures until April 2013 when he moved to his current role.

Jeanine Arnold is an Senior Vice President in the Corporate Finance Group (CFG) team based in Paris.

She leads the Paris-based CFG team, which is responsible for a wide range of credits across the healthcare, retail, transportation, IT, gaming and business and consumer services industries. She is also the EMEA Leveraged Finance Coordinator.

During her time at Moody’s Jeanine has been a lead analyst for European Airlines and Aerospace and Defense companies as well as investment holding companies, manufacturing and semiconductor companies.

Prior to joining Moody’s Jeanine was a Director and Supervising Analyst at Fitch Ratings based in London, specializing in the rating of transportation names across Europe, the CIS and Middle East, including Rail, Airlines, Shipping and Ports. Sean Marion heads up Moody’s EMEA Structured Finance Group, based in London. He is responsible for overseeing both primary issuance and surveillance functions for Consumer Assets, Corporate Assets and Covered Bonds, with teams based in London, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid and Milan.

Prior to joining the Structured Finance Group he was a London-based Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group, responsible for ratings coverage in the Nordics, Baltics, South-Eastern Europe and emerging markets in the Middle East and Africa.

Before relocating to London in 2011, Mr. Marion held various positions of progressive responsibility in Moody’s, including working in the firm’s offices in Mexico City and Toronto. Before joining Moody’s, Mr. Marion worked for The Economist Intelligence Unit, conducting research on macroeconomic and country risk. Sven Reinke is a Managing Director in Moody’s Corporate Finance Group. Sven is responsible for a team on London-based Lead Analysts covering Commodities, TMT and Business and Consumer Services sectors. Sven joined Moody’s in the autumn of 2013 with 12 years’ experience in a number of different corporate credit roles. During his first nine years at Moody’s, Sven was a Lead Analyst covering a number of different corporate sectors.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Sven spent six years as a Senior Corporate Credit Officer at UBS Investment Bank in London responsible for the credit risk management of a portfolio of corporates in different industries. Before joining UBS, Sven was the Lead Credit Analyst for Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi’s German and Benelux blue chip counterparties.
