Stabilising growth, moderating inflation but risks persist
- Regional growth is stabilising as solid domestic demand and improving investment flows bolster economic outlook in much of the region. Inflation is moderating giving room for easing in financial conditions following the Fed’s pivot

Martin Petch is a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer with Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group. Based in Singapore, he covers a portfolio of sovereign credits in the Asia Pacific region – including China, Australia, Hong Kong - as well as credits in Central Asia and the Caucasus. Martin joined Moody’s in 2017, after working as the Manager of Economic Analysis and Research with BHP Billiton covering its key commodity markets, China, Japan and India, economies in the South East Asian region, and the major advanced economies.
Martin also held various positions with the Australian Commonwealth Treasury, the Commonwealth Bank and the Australian Industry Group.
Martin was a graduate in Economics from the University of Western Australia.
Anushka Shah is a Vice President with Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group. Based in Singapore, Anushka covers a number of countries in Asia Pacific, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, the Maldives and Mongolia.
Prior to joining Moody’s, Anushka worked for more than seven years at Citi Investment Research in Bombay, where her focus was on the South Asian economies.
Anushka has a Master’s in Economics and Finance from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Bombay.
Grace Lim is an AVP-Analyst with Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group. Based in Singapore, Grace covers a portfolio of sovereign credits and multilateral development banks in Asia Pacific.
Before joining Moody’s in 2021, Grace was a Senior Economist at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where she led the economic analysis for the US, Eurozone and some ASEAN economies. Prior to that, Grace was a policy analyst in the central bank working on banking regulatory frame works.
Grace holds a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Mathematics and Economics from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Young Kim is an AVP-analyst in Moody’s Sovereign and Sub-Sovereign Risk Group, based in Singapore. He is a lead analyst, covering sovereign portfolios and multilateral development banks in the Asia Pacific and CIS region, including the Philippines, Singapore, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, and other credits as well as institutions such as AIIB.
Previously, Young worked in Moody’s Financial Institutions Group, covering portfolios of nonbank financial institutions such as insurance, securities, and government-related entities in Korea and Hong Kong SAR. He also contributed to Moody’s ESG and sustainable finance team.
Before joining Moody’s, Young was a research officer at the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C., focusing on country risk and public finance in the Fiscal Affairs Department.
Young holds a master’s degree in international relations and international economics from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies.
